Well they come from the Chichubu area I thought, and are wagons owned by the parent company of Chichubu, so I imagined that they may have been handled by them as well as JR East.

Going completely Chichibu! M-A DeKi 300 and 200 (another lucky HS find) plus limestone hoppers to match. Also ordered some Tomix pans for my Tomytec stuff.

I also received a small batch of M-T couplers and a TCS M1 decoder which I'll have wired into one of my Tomytec cars as soon as I get home leave.

Cheers NB

Neither of the above. What I ordered was this http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10055615. Someone cancelled his/her order at HS and I jumped on the opportunity. Just about bust my modelling budget for the month.

Ahh but there not chichibu hehe i do like them though

Taiheiyo Cement was formed from Chichibu Cement (through several mergers) and is the parent company of the Chichibu Railway, which serves at least one of its plants.

I have a set of the HOKI 10000 cars, which I described back in August. They're very nice. The WOKI/WOKIFU 100 limestone cars are a different design, but from the photos they look similar except for capacity. Very nice.

The WoKi/WoKiFu cars are "internal user" vehicles (to use a British term). They never leave Chichibu property. Conversely the HoKis are passed for JRF use and are regularly interchanged.

Got my Kato FL12s in a couple of days ago.. Just tried installing them, and my first impression is pretty much "I'm never buying these again" ...

I plugged one in my Series 151 Kodama. Pushing it in all the way doesn't light up anything. Pulling it back a millimeter or so makes the lights light up in 1 direction, other direction they're off. Pulling it a bit further out, same problem. Both decoders act the same. According to the manual, it's supposed to be correctly set up for directional lighting, but I guess I need to try and program it.

I have to say though, It's very loose when plugged into the car, probably gonna end up soldering it in somehow sooner rather than later. Reason I wanted to try these, is because it's difficult to hide a regular function decoder in the cab cars of the Kodama.

Just paid for my Kato Tokyo Metro 10000 series (I noticed they were on the New Items list and checked; they hadn't sent me a payment request yet).  I'm really looking forward to comparing it with the Greenmax model from last year.

The MA E231-800 (due back in November, but arrived late) I'd paid for Friday is still in transit. It didn't ship until after the weekend; I might still see it this week, but hope is dwindling.

Looks like next week is going to be a subway overdose.  :grin

On one installation I did I put a bit of solder on the decoders contacts to give the brass strips on the train something to grip better. They can also go in backwards and do strange things.

Westfalen, they only really fit 1 way in the 151 series.. It's really a matter of the 151 having a really lousy designed socket for the decoder. I plugged a decoder into my E5, and it just works like it should. The E5 is also a really tight fit, so there's very little change the decoder will fall out even after many hours of running time.

If all installs were like the E5, I'd definitely get more FL12s, but I still haven't been able to get the 151 to work. Still light in only 1 direction, whereas the E5 had correct direction dependent lights with the decoder.

My Micro Ace E231-800 and expansion just arrived (literally; I just answered the door to find the mailman there).  I won't have a chance to run it before tonight, but I did open the box.  It's every bit as good-looking as I expected.  The interior is done in dark blue, with molded seatbacks. Except in the motor car where the motor is flush with the bottom of the window, but they didn't add any bumps for the top of the seats.

This is going to be one of the stars of my railway, and one of the few that makes sense to use over the commuter-line/subway-line interchange.

I never mentioned that my $Grand order arrived from BtTrains.

Full of Kato island stations, #6 switches, a Red Portram, overhead station. I think that's all. Big layout being built.

Neat seeing they used the original packaging so I actually got full boxes of structures.

I encourage people to get in the skid sales.

Got my Tomix Dr Yellow (7 car) set yesterday - Really pleased with the New powered bogies, runs great with no lights flickering, even with dirty track.    Be advised to "lift the cars" during uncoupling and if necessary, use the tool provided.  Decals included are for use on cars 1 thru 7 on the roofs.  Absolutely a Very Fine model by Tomix.
