tossedman
Here's another video of our oldest and newest B Train Shorties. A 0 Series Shinkansen and a Tokyu 5050-4000 series 4 car EMU. The first two clips are testing 216mm and 183mm corners. Later on the corners have been replaced with wider radius corners. Cheers eh, Todd 1 Link to comment
Keikyu
Alright, so I bought some couplers to put on my trains. Surprisingly enough they don't just clip on. http://i.imgur.com/sdBNmxF.jpg <- Large image. So how exactly do I go about getting them on? is it just a matter of cutting them and gluing or am I doing something wrong? Looking back I think I bought the wrong ones, ugh. nickhp
Keikyu, you are correct, you bought the couplers for the kato coupler replacement, you should have bought the couplers marked as replacing the arnold type couplers, i.e. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10027346a2/20/2 Link to comment
tossedman
Keikyu, the couplers I used are these: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10003622 They just twist in. Easy. We got them for our E231 trains. Todd Link to comment
Keikyu
Ugh I'm an idiot, I thought the ones I got were the same. Link to comment
tossedman
Nah, now you just have to buy some trains that'll fit those couplers you have. 1 Link to comment
Krackel Hopper
Was going to post this in the "new releases" but seemed more fitting over here. Bandai is releasing some interesting stuff this December. tossedman
Cool, thanks for sharing Krackel. I just picked up a Series 189 Asama with the add-on two car set. Also had a friend get a B Train Shorty Dr. Yellow for me. Hard to find. Now I find out I need one more car to make it complete. Anyone have an extra Dr. Yellow car they want to sell? I think we'll need a larger layout soon. Too many trains! Cheers eh, Todd Edited April 9, 2021 by tossedman Link to comment

tossedman
My son and I put together another B Train Shorty yesterday. With Calgary flooding like crazy and the schools closed for the day it gave us something to do on a rainy day. He's getting quite good at putting these things together. We also picked up the Kato V13 Double Track Elevated Loop Set. It's cool to see the Shinkansens fly around those banked curves. Still need parts to build the 7th car to complete the 923 Dr. Yellow T4. Cheers eh, Todd Edited April 9, 2021 by tossedman 1 Link to comment

tossedman
I had a friend in Japan get it off of the Yahoo Auction site and send it to me. They pop up on there from time to time. Link to comment
tantousha
Must've paid a bit of a premium for it? Link to comment
tossedman
Fifty two bucks plus shipping. Didn't have to pay the premium to have a company order it off of the auction site for me though. Link to comment
Keikyu
I have to be honest and say I find it sweet you and your son play with the trains. I wish I did that with my dad but it's more my grandad who is into them and he unfortunately sold his trainset when he moved. Link to comment
JR 500系
Yes i agree with Keikyu.. It's nice for father and son to play trains together... I do not even have a father nor grandfather to play toys with. Both died even before i started walking so... Anyhow, great looking doctor yellow! It's nice to have a friend in Japan that's willing to help out! Now you desperately need the final 7th car for the Doctor! Link to comment
tossedman
Thanks guys, it's a lot of fun when we play with our trains together. If you look closely at the above photo you can see where it all started. There's a wooden track surrounding his N Scale layout. Edited June 24, 2013 by tossedman Link to comment
tossedman
Those look great! What a difference eh. Link to comment
Keikyu
They definitely look nicer, it's a shame Greenmax doesn't quite fit well so I needed to glue them. I'd have liked to just stick them on whatever I am running at the time. Link to comment
tossedman
I've tried Kato pantographs and the fit right into the holes on the B Train Shorty. Link to comment
Blevins18
I saw one on eBay not too long ago but it was $49.99 and $15 shipping. Pretty much a rip off but you're right they're hard to find. Link to comment
