My October preorder from AmiAmi arrived today, inside were the two packs of Hogaraka Dou containers which have caused havoc with previous orders. Also included is the new Kato 313-3000 Series which completes my contemporary Iidasen fleet, all I need now is 119-5000 (E4) a 119-5100 and 119-5300 Series to be able to extend the timeline to starting from around 2010-2012. There is also the two 211-5000 Series LL Sets which will bolster my JR Tokai commuter fleet, the non powered 3 car set will be hooked up with my Tomix 313-2300’s to make a 7 car train for peak hour services, the powered set will run on its own on local services. I really like the Kato EF65-2000, I already have two Tomix versions which are good but the Kato version comes virtually complete with handrails and a host of other small parts already fitted.

Looks nice, especially as they added the vent on the offside window. Shame Kato missed this detail on the HO version.

So about seven weeks ago I made the foolish statement that I wouldn’t be falling down the rabbit hole and go lurking on certain auction sites scouring for discontinued models. Well as suspected by others I have now fallen foul to a another strain of Tomytecitus, this time it’s of the Kumaden variety. I picked up two sets of the Type 500 units, one set will be kitbashed into the single car Type 600, number 601 was made by fitting the cab of car 504 onto 503 after 504 was  badly damaged in an accident and had to be scrapped. I also took advantage of the situation picking up my first J Train video, it is shot during the final year of operation of the 5000 Series on the Kumaden.

My Series 0 Fresh Green arrived and reunited with its Series 100 sister.  And finally got a C56 after patiently waiting for a re-release. 🙂

My small Hobby Search order arrived today after a much prolonged journey via SAL, it’s the first time I have used it and I’m not overly keen on using it again but it was dirt cheap to use. Anyway the current strain of Tomytecitus that I have been diagnosed with is multiplying at a rapid rate.

I received my Tomix My Plan 90950 yesterday. Only, I'm on business... In another state... It's a Christmas present for me so I won't unbox it for a month!

Hey  @JR 500系, did you happen to see that someone is selling a 48 bus set up on Yahoo Auctions?

https://zenmarket.jp/auction.aspx?itemCode=l482220004

It seems like just the kind of thing you'd want to buy *poke, poke*

Yes! It's tempting, but it seems to have a large amount of the Toei buses from collection 6, 9 and 11, the not so popular ones... Besides, I think I already have quite a fair number of Toei buses...  😛

Haha but it was with good intentions so all's good!  🙂

How long did it take to get to you? I've had packages (usually smaller ones) take a week to show up, my average is 2-3 weeks.

Sal has been getting a bit longer these days here for us in dc. Usually closer to three weeks than the usual two... I had one package last month finally arrive at 6 weeks. I’d never had any over 3.5 weeks and then only a few of those out of hundreds over the last 20 years. The ebay seller thought the package lost and refunded and two days later of course it showed up and I repaid him. I don’t use registered any more as I’ve never had an sal go poof and chad’s experience of it delaying his sal with registration. But then again the few ems I do are now closer to 5 days rather than the old 2-3 days. May be longer custom.

cheers

SAL parcel always takes 1.5, sometimes 2 months for me. E-Packet and registered SAL about 2-3 weeks.

I have not done registered SAL in a while.

My recent SAL Small Packet/Package have been 2-4 weeks.

SAL Parcel has been a bit faster.  1.5-2.5 weeks.

Normal Airmail Parcel about 1.5 weeks.  Maybe 2 weeks.

EMS (not many recently) has been about 1 week from Japan.

(this is all for the last 6-8 months being recent --- I have not had much in the last couple months -- a few SAL Parcel or SAL small packet, 1 per month for old pre-orders from HS -- and one Airmail or SAL packet from Banzai)

Finally got my second parcel from a trusty ebay supplier *cough* plazajapan *cough*.

Some more decorating assets and lighting for my layout and trains and some pillars. Oh goody, goody.

That's a big package. Guess you have something to do over the weekend 😄

I'm on vacation, I should have enough time to get everything done for the weekend 😎

Ok, the most tedious of it all will be to install the 60 light fixtures in 60 cars 😓

That's what you'll get when deciding to light all cars 😅

Been there, done that, and much much more. I hope for you that you have some easy models to equip, and not stupendously hard ones 😄 Good luck!

So that's where their stock of lighting kits went!

At least I didn't buy the matching decoders... now that would be a nightmare (and expensive).

It took bang on 4 weeks to arrive, I had asked Katoftw what his experience was and he said about 3 weeks for delivery to Brisbane, given that SAL has to transit through Sydney on its way to Brisbane the delivery time to the Sydney area should be 2 to 3 days less than it would be for Brisbane.

Thank you, but it's just some simple commuters, nothing fancy.

preorder of a Kato C56 arrived as well as a power chassis for my Tomytec Narrow Gauge 1/80 set. The other Narrow Gauge set needed a chassis which appeared to be sold out, but my good friend Eurostar sourced one on a recent visit to Japan. He also sold me a Cassiopeia set with an EH510 loco to complete my 6 coach set purchased earlier in the year.
