What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

Ajinomoto Logistics mean it's some kind of ingredient for food manufacture. They're still interesting looking containers.

These are the containers for liquid natural gas:

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10206291

They look great but at $25 for one they're a bit on the expensive side, especially since they're only around the same size as a wing container (31 feet long, two per koki). The smaller ones are for any number of chemicals, usually it's stenciled on the side what's in the container, for example these are methanol-only:

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10346827

If I'm not mistaken the yellow triangle with the black outline isn't a warning sign but denotes that the container is ISO-sized for loading onto ships. You see them on 40 foot containers too. The warning at the middle bottom is one to not use a regular forklift but rather a top-lifter to pick up the containers (an ISO tank container would likely collapse from the pressure of where the forks are if picked from the bottom).

Thanks for all your help.

Ajinomoto seems to have fermentation products, that might explain the pressure mark. I wonder if there is a safety valve? :D

Ok, just kidding, guess 4bar is standard for all chemical tanks.

Maybe I still will get that Natural gas container. Not cheap but really cool looking (plus some special modeler's license thought waaay back in my head).

Okay, my copy of the Eva Shinkansen arrived today.

I've not run it yet mainly due to not knowing it's minimum radius curve. I suspect it's going to be the one I don't have much of, or the space to set up.

That then triggered a round of filling the book-style cases I received previously:

& discovered that I got the wrong size for the KRT6000 & Kiha54 DMUs, but it's perfect for Kiha110s - and I'm certainly expecting more of those in the near future.

Out of curiosity, at least in the US - BIN and bids are separate tracks.  Are things different on Japanese auction sites?

With JAUCE anything that I have come across with a BIN doesn't have an auction bid option, the wierd thing was that the other two listings that I bid on were auctions and no one else bothered to place a bid, maybe I was just lucky as normally someone else will be placing bids as well.

The other day I ordered a TM-03 power unit for Tomytec's ED102 electric steeplecab locomotive, ordered from Plaza Japan.

Rod,

I occaisionally run the kato basic 4 car set on 315 curves tho it wo nt handle them at high speed and run the tomix 500-7000 8 car on 381 curves,if that helps any.

Well I went to our local spring train show and was surprised to find a table selling a fair bit of Japanese stuff. Unfortunately for me it was all too modern, but I did get a few figure packs (railway workers, schoolkids, people with mopeds and bicycles), a Green Max signal kit, and a Green Max road signs pack. There were random other bits and pieces around elsewhere including a 103 EMU, but the only other things I got was a pair of new-in-box Tomix Taki25000s for $10 CAD each. They won't fit on the Aizu Line but hey I loke tank cars anyways, and I finally have some Japanese equipment! :)

It does, it means that my little Kato layout's out - R282 curves there- & that I need to find a space to set up the Tomix CC set, though at a pinch I could do low-speed loops with C317 curves I have.

The older Tomix 500 Series is ok with 282mm radius curves, happier on 315mm though. Not sure if they've changed anything. I have a fourteen car set made from the older basic set/additional powered coach and the more recent A and B add-ons (and a couple of the standalone extra coaches - I still need another two 8835s for the full set). Only visible difference is that the earlier models didn't have glazing in door windows next to coach ends, but the paint matches perfectly and the couplers are identical.

It will run on R282s but it doesn't look very good doing so. As for speed I've never really had it throttled up on the small loop, I just did a clearance test to see if I could run it.

Erm... Yamanote Line is a E231-500, not an E233 though ~

but still you cant go wrong with it! It's almost a flagship trademark train of Tokyo now!

Whoops!  They do look pretty similar from the side though!  Still a pretty train, maybe I should get a few more...

And now I've just placed my first board-relevant online order, a Tomix DE10, green Yo5000, Tomix WaRa1 and ToRa70000, and Popondetta WaMu90000 with ribbed doors.

Tried DHL from AmiAmi for the first time, if it wasn't for the bad weather on the east coast of Canada the past few days I would have had my package in 4 days....but instead I had to wait an extra 4 days while my package sat in the local DHL warehouse snowed in.  Oh well still pretty fast, about $12 cheaper then EMS and no customs fee (I guess I just got lucky).  My Skytree train has arrived, along with a few people to put in it, some TN couplers for it (probably went over kill on these but they were on sale, and if I don't use all 6 package I sure I have something else that will), and some HO containers that were on half price for my ever growing HO Koki fleet. I said I wasn't going to get into Japanese HO but for some reason I ordered a DE10, two Hoki 2200 and now a Tomix EF64-1000 renewal.

My lights from Hobby Link came today. I ordered them on the 12th with unregistered SAL. All my registered stuff from Amiami took over 4 weeks. What's up whit that?

Just noticed some Popondetta cars restocked at HS so ordered a ToRa40000, a ToRa 25000, and a WaFu35000, and threw in a Tomix KiHa23 as well... two orders in such quick succession, well, my birthday is on Monday so I have an excuse!

Oh well still pretty fast, about $12 cheaper then EMS and no customs fee (I guess I just got lucky).

No idea how it works in Canada but with DHL Express Germany you sometimes get a letter with a payment request 1-2 weeks after the package.

Yes, Suica is right. Sometimes they pre-clear packages and send you a bill weeks later (one example - package arrived in December and didn't get bill till February). Sometimes they put a COD on it.

The 521 series looks really nice actually! Parts are also included for the wing, and the front coupler cover is a nice touch too. Parts are also included for changing them to normal TN coupler to couple more trains together for a longer consist

The Odakyu 1000 RED is really nice! That beautiful red! Really need to attach the handrails to make it look nicer...

Next parcel is the beautiful 323 series, along with the Hitomono bus which is on offer and more coupler for my Huis Ten Bosch set...
