What did you order or the post deliver? (Japanese N Gauge)

The Tōbu 6050/634 from Greenmax need special JC25 type Tomix TN couplers (relatively expensive at around ¥500 each (¥1000 per pair)) on the cab ends, but you can put whatever you want between the cars.

The most common option people tend to go for between the cars are Kato couplers, because these simulate cables going between the cars. There however is also a new -more realistic looking- option from Nanyō Bussan I'd like to try out (CES couplers), as in this new series these are drawbars with cables available as well: http://www.1999.co.jp/10442511 will go for about ¥2100, which means they are cheaper than Tomix's TN couplers in general.

The 634 (Skytree Train) only needs two JC25s though (in between the sets), as these are double married pairs and are only separated for maintenance.

Got a good deal off Amazon.

Tomix KiHa 187 Super Inaba

I didn't know it was such a budget model. But since I paid less than 5,000 JPY it's a fine, I guess.

A Roundhouse 485 Series 'Kirishima & Hyuuga' also found its way into my collection.

Also the second Volume of Metros & Trams in Japan just arrived. :P

I'm happy to see that you're still expanding your 200 series collection. Would be cool to see a group photo eventually.  :love10:

I'll admit that I've had trouble keeping up: after ordering the 200系 H formation last month (98603/4/5), I won't have enough cash for the 98619/20 set for a while.

The additional motor in 98620 should make the full 10-car K47 formation a superb runner on any grade.  It may even run better than 92879/92880 200系 F formation, which is the best-running shinkansen I've owned.

The 200's will most definitely have a meet-up and photo session very soon.  That's cool - you got the full 200 H formation, that would be a sight to see.

AmiAmi just sent me a payment notification for a non train item I ordered, I think this was the sign I needed to order the Skytree train so I added it to the order along with some TN couplers. I am already paying for shipping so why not ;)

Okay, I decided to do the Tomix Eva shinkansen plunge. Hopefully, nartak/Nariichi/Model Train Plus' listing of one being available is correct. The other time I tried to buy a limited edition from him, all I did was remind him that he'd not updated the listing to reflect the actual stock level of it being zero.

Edit: one is coming my way along with a KOKIFU10000 & the instock count increased.

I believe it is. I wish Microace would ship the Echigo Tokimeki set and Tomix the Taki-1000s so mine would be on the way...

Well I think just about everyone in the club has an Eva 500 I think! We can't even prototypically run two at once like the rest of the Shinkansens on the club layout...

I'm still such a sucker for the painted trains even though I've been restricting my train diet a lot (huge belly bulge of trains, way more than I can easily play with right now!)

Cheers

Life has kept me busy, but in the past week my four latest buyee purchases have arrived.  It took only two days for them to get to the US, then about two weeks for USPS to get them the last 50 miles to my door.  A tomix high grade kiyu 25, a kato Kumoni 143, and 10 kato wamu 80000 cars.  Of course, as soon as I paid for the yahoo auction kato announced the rerelease of the wamu 80000, so I guess I'll just have to get some more when they come out!

I went a little bit silly on JAUCE recently when I was on a quest to get some Kyoto Municipal Transport Bureau buses for my future Keihan Keishin project. I was after a West Body Industries 58MC and found one at a decent Buy It Now price and bid, something went wrong and I thought someone else had got it, I then decided to bid on another on as well as one with an Isuzu Cubic and a Fuso MP618K, luckily they were all fairly cheap as I ended up winning all three auctions with no further bidding. I was also lucky enough to find a Keihan Bus Hino RC at a local model rail store recently at a pretty good price, I now have myself a bit of a fleet of buses for my project albeit somewhat inadvertently, now I just have to source some more cars when I head over next month.

Well this arrived today

Got them mainly for layout scenery purposes, though I probably should've upped the truck count to: have a set for collection; get the secret truck; duplicate a busy freight yard.  Oh, I got all the listed trucks in that box, hence kicking myself for not ordering more.

I bucked the trend. The Eva 500 didnt do it for me.

I love this train it's the reason I got into this hobby in the first place but at over £300 with delivery I could nt help thinking someone was having a laugh at our expense! So I did nt bother either.

I remember I searched a LNG container, seems this is not. Anyone an idea what liquid (or liquified gas) it was made for? Some of the detail show yellow/black warning signs and a pressure mark "4 bar".

Medusa,

Is LNG, liquid nitrogen gas? I can t see the pictures properly but are there any "flammable" warning signs on them? If not then their absence could mean it is a nitrogen container.

My train knowledge is limited but I worked on a petro chemical plant for 25 years so have a little knowledge about chemicals. The 4 bar could be the pressure inside the car or a warning not to exceed this as a maximum pressure for the car or tank.

Out of curiosity, at least in the US - BIN and bids are separate tracks.  Are things different on Japanese auction sites?
