Kato - New Releases

I think using Tomix TN couplers (simple Arnold replacements) will already help a lot. It does with the Tomytec trains.

I completely agree. This is one of the main reasons I try to buy Tomix before Kato.

Oi.

The full train is shipping in a few days so I'll play with couplers when it arrives.

Doesn't look like we can close the gap completely but, we'll see when we get them.

Does anyone know if the G3 is a Kato, Lemke, or Hobbytrain? I'm guessing decoder board sizes.

Digitrax thinks it uses the EM13.

Does anyone have any history on Dr Blue Belt DMU? I only find pics of VT18 in Red. Its probaby lost in translation.

"VT18 is 1963 as a vehicle to express the form of the East German State Railways diesel international long distance high speed (DR)"

Kato 73710 & 73711, 73712 & 73713, 73714 is the DR Ernst Thälmann train. Serious Pre-WWII history.

"Spur N Digitalschnittstelle nach NEM" means NEM decoder friendly.

Pics featuring the E6:

The E6 really does have a long cab. It has interior in the cab. The coupling length of E5+E6 is a bit too large IMO.

Might be due to the ddc friendly addition to the locos. Is that tax included u quoted because tax goes up soon

That's Kato's list price... I think it has the 5% tax included.

I just got off Feather River Trains where I reserved two Atlas sound equipped Alco S2 switchers, now I'm down with Hobby Search for a pair of DD13's and and EF56. Oh well, easy come easy go.

I'm a slow learner, so here goes a pic of Kato's latest poster. Already have a Micro-Ace EF56, but the Kato version would be a better runner, and also makes me wonder what Kato's intentions are for future releases of older stock are.

Nice! A re-release of the Super view Odoriko and the N700! The N700 leaves me thinking, wouldnt they be releasing the N700A model instead?

Link to comment

the n700 was getting pretty low with wholesalers,

I guess they will likely do it latter in the year unless some one has already jumped in and got the rights and planning a release later in the year.

I wouldn`t think it will sell too fast anyway It`s not really that different besides the A and 1 or 2 other visual bits, the rest is well the same...

Yeah there's only a B-Train Shorty of the N700A announced yet. I'm expecting Tomix to release it sometime though, considering they have made most (all?) N700 variations so far.

Hi

It is a competetive world and Kato has seen MA develop and take a share of their market .

Now they are seen as a threat and with a shrinking home market Kato feels the need to remind their home market that they are still competitive.

Micro Ace are unlikely to announce a re-run of the Ef56 and there are those who prefer Kato products.

The Kato version will be the same if no better than the MA version.

Hope this helps.
