Alleged archival grade Bluray discs. I picked up a Bluray burner for a few k yen some years ago, a Pioneer one. I keep backups of important stuff on those discs, but they are just ordinary ones. In fact I think a couple were Daisou 100 yen ones.

The archival ones are supposed to last decades. I guess if I had video of my wedding or something...

Densha de D. This is a sort of parody game of Densha de Go! (train driving simulator) and Initial D (drift car racing). There are videos on YouTube... You race trains and "drift" them round the bends by straddling two tracks.

A Z80 in circuit emulator. Back in the day the tools for developing software and designing new computers were pretty limited. If you could afford one of these it plugged into the CPU socket and acted like a Z80, except that you could debug everything from another PC. It probably has ROM emulation as well so you can quickly test new software, instead of having to slowly load it every time.

I kinda wish I had bought that Sharp pocket PC, but I'm holding out for the right one. It's a text only display, and I'm looking for a graphic one. They are nice little machines, with calculator features and BASIC programming.

I nearly fainted. This is not even the half of it either. Hard Off Hachioji is the greatest shop in the universe.

I am going to have to rent a car to pick some of this stuff up. Need to look for somewhere that sells packing material, or better still can package stuff for me before I send it.

To be fair the X68000s are a little bit expensive. Beep in Akihabara had a 68030 for less than that recently, I should have bought it but thought I'd look around a bit. Gah.

Lovely car.

Yes that car is mighty cute! One thing is on my mind though, this may be generalising, most Japanese drivers are really thoughtful, but the car seemed to be a little off in its designated parking lot...

The classic "Multi-track drifting" meme.

There was also another unrelated game called Tetsu One Densha de Batoru, and its international release: X-Treme Express: World Grand Prix.

@mojo Did you happen to see any second-hand dvds from Vicom or the like?  They've got some limited express front-view videos I'd like to pick up.

I'm afraid I haven't been looking, but I'll keep an eye open. Do you have any examples to help me recognize them?

It is uncharacteristically badly parked. It's got a dashcam too.

Here's their page for train dvds: https://www.vicom.co.jp/railroad/

You can see their logo in the upper left and what their covers look like.  Brand new they can be quite expensive, I'm wondering what used availability and pricing are like.

I saw this one. Not really scanning the DVDs too much I'm afraid, it takes a long time to go through them.

I bought the Loopy. It's another crap games console, mostly seems to have been aimed at girls as all the games as girly and it has a built in printer. For some reason Japanese girls like printers.

It's currently un-emulated due to lack of information about it. The hardware is not well understood. One of the main issues is the lack of a ROM dump, which also prevents running homebrew software on it. So plan is to dump the ROM one way or another, probably by removing it from the motherboard temporarily.
