Interesting signal. It shows green, amber, and red, but if you look it is made up of a bi-colour LED matrix panel. Must be cheaper I guess, unless it occasionally shows other things.

That’s likely a signal for station platform staff to confirm the departure signal, helpful especially in rush hour conditions when platform crowding may obstruct visual observation down the train length. It may display other info such as when a platform barrier door malfunctions/has an obstruction, etc.

I'm keeping an eye out for a Busicom calculator. Very rare, was originally going to use the Intel 4004 CPU, their first one. It wasn't ready in time so they made their own CPU, but Intel sold the 4004 to other customers and the rest is history.

Sakaori station. No gates, just terminals to touch your payment card to.
