One by one everyone is succumbing to the Keihan Otsu lines trains... :P

One day I need to actually buy a 800.  Got everything else. haha

I don't think you got the 60 type (Modemo) and 80 type (Tomytec special edition) either though... ;)

I really want to get the 60 type and 80 type someday as well, but the 60 type is just too expensive and the 80 type close to impossible to get if you don't want to pay a ridiculous sum of money via Yahoo Auctions. I really hope Tomytec will do a normal commercial release for the 80 type one day.

And in the sense of completing the collection I would also need the other 800 series; the one with the old logo. :P

I don't have the 260, 300s, 350s or 500s either.  I wont bother with those until I can get my hands on some running number decals from Greenmax.

But the 260, 300 and 500 types have not been released (yet) so I already figured you wouldn't have them. :P ;)

Link to comment

Yes they have been - if you can track down some older greenmax pre coloured kits.  1079T from memory.  But I'm attempting to get current day running protos, so not too fussed with older stuff I wont put on my layout just yet.

Now that you mention it, I remember seeing that on Hobby Search a long time ago. But this kit is probably impossible to get now. I just wish Tomytec would release them. Or maybe not, because that will turn my wallet empty. :P

10 years ago, I dreamed having an EF66. And now its here!

Anyone knows what year this model was released? Made by tomix, spring drive mech, very noisy, but also a very excellent puller.

Ignore the EF81 box behind lol, it was unintended

I have recently received an amazing large lot from my 'undisclosed' source.

Lots include: Lots of Tomytec buses to further expand my fleet... I'm becoming very tempted to do a case to showcase the buses in their various collections; i.e. Collections 1-19... Also received my first HO scale Tomytec buses, the Girls & Panzer Bus 2 and Toei buses. Being the Toei bus lover that I am, I just couldn't resist passing up on Toei buses!

More interior lights for my trains...

A nice DE10, ready for hauling my Ben'etsu Monogatari!  :)

Trains include:

Kintetsu Iseshima Liner 23000 Yellow

MicroAce made 383 series Shinano 6+2 set. (I wanted the Kato for this as it had the realistic tilting mechanism, but it was too hard to find or expensive to buy....

Odakyu EXE 30000 6-car set. Now I have a full 10-car EXE!

Meitetsu Kiha-8500. This links up with the Kiha-85 on the Takayama main line ~

Spending way more than I should....   X_X

I like EF66s. Which is why I have the following:

Tomix Asakaze basic set (EF66 and a couple of coaches, I've managed to add the generator van and a couple of coaches which look right but aren't quite). Loco seems to be post-spring drive as it runs like silk.

Pair of Bandai B Train EF66s in blue (one powered, the other waiting for them to make more Power Unit 1s in black)

Three Plarail EF66s (bit random!)

I like those red hybrid buses! And Tomix also did the 383 series btw. ;)

Hhmmm.... I didn't see Tomix's 383... Tomix did the 373 for sure, and they seem to be the only one that did them.

The Hybrid buses are the bus from the BRT set, or known as BM-006 serial number. They are only available from the BRT set itself and is otherwise unavailable..

Oops they look so similar I thought they were the same train. My bad.

Actually, they do look pretty different:

Here's the 383 series Shinano:

There's a slant front car that has panoramic views of the front, and it's a Green car. There's also a rear end that allows connections between cars. The face looks more squarish...

Here's the 373 series:

Notice that the front is more rounded off at the sides. The front destination board is also on the door as compared with the 383 series which has it at the right side.

Well done on the EF66! I have a Kato one. Not quite sure what it is that makes them so special - perhaps it's that styled front end; with the fairings and trim which look a little bit like a 50s American car......

It's funny how the idea of end and intermediate driving cars repeats itself. British Rail did something similar in the '50s with two series of inter-city DMUs. They came in three car sets with two power cars flanking a trailer (either with a side corridor and compartments or a buffet), one power car had a full width cab while the other had a gangway. Coupled together in the right formation you had a six car set with all passengers able to access the buffet car.

Today's post included a pair of Koki container flats in B Train Shorty form, I was originally going to film building them but it wouldn't have been that exciting. Only four parts to the body, five parts per container, sideframes to glue to the bogies and lots of tiny stickers!

Received my small parcels from Shapeways!

Now my town has Torii gates and air-conditioners/ broilers!

Amazing they used UPS expedited services!

*Strange why the air-conditioner/ broiler turned up with a dash of yellow...

Is there a reason why they didn't combine the shipments? This is ok when shipping is free, but seriously bad otherwise.

Kato C12 arrived from Loco1 yesterday.  Kato seem to out do themselves with each new steam loco they make, I don't think I could take a good enough photo to do it justice.

Found room in the cab for a CT Elektronik DCX74 decoder.

2 orders, 2 shipments.

It's a long story...

2 orders, 2 shipments.

Yap. The reason for the 2 orders was that the first Torii order was cancelled due to some technical issues (Toni would be very familiar with this) so I lodged another order for the Torii gates, hence the separation of the orders and the arrival of 2 parcels instead of one.
