Nick_Burman
I'm not sure, it's in Japanese. :dontknow: The catalog number of the old DD13 I think was 7001, the new one is 7012-1 and the photo is of a type 1 loco, DD13 70, with the single head light. With "Pennsylvania" (drop-equalizer) or Flexicoil trucks? Cheers NB Link to comment
Densha
Hello Densha, First, let me apologise. I am not sure if SaHa 114 is correct. I believe MoHa 114 is possibly correct. I shall investigate further. Now, I read the PDF file too. I am confuse also. I will ask when I am next in the Liberty shop. ラウンドハウス仕様の4両化粧箱 ..... Is 4-car set an option? No problem, I am just investigating too after all. I somehow have the idea the text in the pfd file is not correct. Link to comment
Ochanomizu
Hello Densha, I have information that 10-931 is 3-car set. However, the case has space for a 4th car. I have asked a new question: Is the 4th car available and what is it's product code? :dontknow: Please, I am waiting for reply about this. 1 Link to comment
Densha
I have found this Japanese blog post about the model: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/mycoplace/7644163.html There's also a picture of the trainset as Kato is releasing it, it may be taken on the Uno Line if I look at the station surroundings. I think the text mentions that the model is not entirely prototypically correct because it's a painted over Roundhouse model. Do I have that right? Link to comment
bill937ca
Kato is bringing back some structures that in one case haven`t been available since 2010. JR 500系
Thanks for the info bill937ca! Although the rest are not very interesting, but the town and parking area set looks good for my residential area... Will be looking out for the release of this set... Link to comment

Hello Ochanomizu and Densha, Kato will not be producing the fourth car at this time. It is not the correct form for the Uno Line. Edited January 27, 2013 by E6系 Link to comment

Densha
Thanks for figuring it out for me Ochanomizu and E6! Now I know that I don't have to buy the train because it isn't used in the area I want to model. 1 Link to comment
Densha
Interesting note that Kato will be bringing out replacement LED light units for the JR East Kiha110 because the re-run in April will feature LED lights and the older runs didn't: http://ngi.blog.eonet.jp/n_gauge/2013/01/katoassy1-be6c.html I found some interesting blog posts on the currently used Kato Kiha110 light units and self-made replacements: http://tetsuomoto.blogspot.nl/2013/01/kato-110.html http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/eby_ss/9198629.html 1 Link to comment

Guest Closed Account 1
Big gaps for Reindeer to jump through. Or Moose. http://www.katomodels.com/n/glacier_exp/ Short shank couplers are a must upgrade. This train might be a good reason to add people. Edited February 5, 2013 by Webskipper Link to comment
E6系
Disaster !!! See prototype here: Link to comment
Densha
The prototype has relatively large gaps too, but Kato has to reduce the space between the diaphragms to 1mm. I wonder if even attaching other couplers will help enough. Link to comment
Vato
Gap between cars too big :( Link to comment
ToniBabelony
I think using Tomix TN couplers (simple Arnold replacements) will already help a lot. It does with the Tomytec trains. Link to comment
westfalen
Kato should have used something like the Kinematic Kinematic couplers on their Daylight cars, they almost touch on straight track yet spread apart on curves enough to allow full length US passenger cars to negotiate 282mm and tighter radius curves. The diaphrams on these cars protrude far enough that the corners of the car bodies shoudn't touch on even tight curves. Link to comment
IST
The prototype has relatively large gaps too, but Kato has to reduce the space between the diaphragms to 1mm. I wonder if even attaching other couplers will help enough. Do I remember well that Kato planned this train will run on 150 mm radius? Because it would explain the large gap between the cars. 1 mm would be to small to these lengthy cars. However it looks silly on the small radius tracks. Link to comment
KenS
I can't find the thread where we discussed this, but Kato's Roundhouse "Green Wrapping" E231, matching the prototype commemorating the 50th anniversary of the introduction of the green 103 series on the line, is up for reservations on HS. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10215397 I've reserved one (was there any doubt?). IST
Glacier-express is out now, I have just read it on Twitter from Kato. And as I see the add-on has been already sold out at Hobby Search, but the basic set is available. Edited February 13, 2013 by IST Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
I didn't see it on the schedule page. http://www.katomodels.com/distribution/schedule_e.shtml Link to comment
Densha
The Japanese however did mention it: http://www.katomodels.com/distribution/schedule.shtml The English Kato site is very limited and a lot of info is simply not entered. Link to comment
