Since the introduction of the original Series 0, continual improvements were made to its accommodations until the final version, with #2000 and higher, was developed in 1981. The_Ghan
skip, I'm not sure what you mean. 10-453 was released in August 2005. Do you mean they're doing another re-run? Cheers The_Ghan Link to comment

to2leo
In celebration of the Olympics in London, what I don't understand is why Kato is releasing just the Eurostar basic set without the add on again? The extension is where the demand is to the point that it can be twice or three times the value of the basic set. Link to comment
clem24
The extension is where the demand is to the point that it can be twice or three times the value of the basic set. No doubt I remarked about it earlier in the thread and it p!sses me off to no end. Link to comment

Looks like Hornby has 2012 Olympic license. Cool sets, just OO gauge. hornby.com/shop/london-2012-range/hornby-train-sets-and-train-packs/ Oh here's a Kato Olympic Hiawatha: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?120088-Kato-announces-release-of-Olympian-Hiawatha-passenger-train Link to comment
keitaro
kato are doing the c56 koumi line. It was used for light freight mostly carrying vegetables and produce. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10188961 freight to go with it http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10188969 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10188979 c56 is based on the c12 and had a tender added to it to make extra distance possible as demand for longer runs increased. for those interested (me ) this is the fate of the engine c56-150 http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~pb3i-itkr/3-5-a-sl.htm not sure if it has been renewed or has ever been any plans to do so. Also look who is also doing a 200 series http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10188984 whats with the renewed interest in the 200 series all of a sudden? I would preffer they do some 0 series sets again for me to pick up. Link to comment

traindork
What's with that E5 on the poster? It says 2012 along with some Japanese writing? I'm happy to see the 200. I don't have one yet! Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
Probably refers to the E5 Starter set. Link to comment
keitaro
yeah it's the starter set 200 is here btw no mention of ddc friendly surely it will be unless it's a slight tooling of an older one http://www.katomodels.com/n/200kei/ Link to comment
westfalen
I wonder if the C56 will have the new style mechanism like the C62 and new D51, going by the price it looks like it. Link to comment

Fenway Park
According to ngi blog the C56 will have a new mechanism with small coreless motor. So this bodes well for a C12 and more importantly a new C11 as both types are working on tourist/preserved railways. Kato and Tomix (C61 20 ) appear to have stolen a march on Micro Ace with their new 1/150 scale steam locos. Link to comment
Guest Closed Account 1
Hopefully the coreless motor will be the same as used in the new D51-498. Tender decoder install though. Link to comment
200系
I'm excited (to say the least) to see Kato updating their 200系0番台 model, will certainly get myself the full formation (along with the Tomix renewaled K formation, if it comes to pass). I'm wondering which of the E formations they'll reproduce (I personally hope for E30, although E1 would be nice too), does anyone know which formation the old set was based on? I'm skeptical keitaro' date=' there's no mention of decoders in optional parts either.[/quote'] From what I can see it's an update of their older E formation model, so I wouldn't count on it. I think it will be similar to the latest 0系/200系(Railway Museum), I might be wrong though. whats with the renewed interest in the 200 series all of a sudden? I would preffer they do some 0 series sets again for me to pick up. The 30th anniversary of both the Tohoku and Joetsu Shinkansen, as well as 30 years of 200系 Service (not production, as the first formation was delivered in 1980). And of course the pending retirement of the 200系. Link to comment
keitaro
Kato are well known not to put ddc friendly on their site when it is dcc friendly. I guess we have to wait and see. Link to comment

The_Ghan
200系, I've got the MA 200-1500, 25th Anniversary Set, A1596/7. I think it is K47, right? I've also got a 16-car Tomix set, 92625, 2824, 3x2825, 4x2826, and 2x2830. I'm not sure of the consist number but I think it is a H set. Is the new Kato set 10-1156/7 a G set? If so, I may consider.
