kvp
The bases should be done much like large scale figurines they make. The figures should have a pin on their legs and the bases should have a hole for them. This way you can put down a figure by drilling a small hole in any base, like into the foam based tomix diorama roads. Also it would be possible to cut down the pin and glue the figure onto anything. Of course thats just my 2 cents... 2 Link to comment

keitaro
¥11,000? It'd better come in a wooden box... Σ( ̄ロ ̄lll) something tells me it was the licensing rights that inflated this one. i was a little disappointed to see they didn`t get lit head boards. it`s not to their normal standards like they cut corners. i hope the interior is above standard. 1 thing N Gauge has not got yet is exceptional interior details. especially in trains that have larger windows than the avg train. Martijn Meerts
That's mainly because from the average layout viewing distance, you won't see any interior details anyway :) Link to comment

JR 500系
Argh... And Tomix had to do just that! I was guessing the old (E2 coloured) colour E4 to appear and indeed it did! Getting the new painting as I like the white, red & blue and already got the older version (without power coupler)... JR 500系
is that the sobu line in HO??? what kind of yamanote line are they reisssuing? Hi jrcrunch: Yap the Sobu line is in HO, together with the Yamanote and the Joban Lines. For the Yamanote, I think it's a bunch of different series to get together a complete 11-car set: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10296046 Pretty interesting stuff, but well i'm glad I don't collect HO as it's way out of my league ... X__X I've been hoping that Kato or Tomix would (re)release a Sobu line E231. Neat! Re-release? I'm not a HO scale collector but I think the E231 Sobu Line in HO scale was ever release before? I do know the Yamanote in HO was released previously before from Tomix... 1 Link to comment

kvp
1/700 is just too small For a working railroad it might be, but as a diorama, especially for ships and taller buildings, it's just fine. Not to mention the Tokyo Tower would be just 47.5 cm high and the Skytree around 90 cm in 1:700. Not to mention an 1:700 railway used in an N scale setting would be 1:4.6 which is great for an amusement park ride and moving them with magnets or through floor pins is easy. Also when used in H0, it's the classic ride on garden railway size. Beside the two famous japanese trains, they have a rather large selection of rolling stock, inlcuding a 0-6-0 steam locomotive, an alco diesel and lots of box and flatcars. I wonder if they will be available separate without the docks and the launchpad diorama kits. 1 Link to comment

cteno4
this product would be great for 1/700. linear propulsion! ive wanted to get one to play with for a long time! Perfect for the kiddie ride in N scale and thought of for amusement park rides as well for both overhead (been thinking of how to do those overhead ropeway type rides at small parks that go around the park) or under propulsion. http://www.idlmotors.com/ cheers jeff Edited October 27, 2014 by cteno4 1 Link to comment
