JR 500系
I prefer the Kansenjya version. I'm lucky I found it before the Plarail version hit pre-order. I'm thinking there should be more than just difference in decal between the two. If not, wouldn't the two being so alike be released so closely? Still need more information before I can decide. Both are pretty but I can only afford one.... :( Link to comment
katoftw
Both would be 8 car sets. And the only difference would be the front/back car decals. Maybe one unit will be V2. and the other will be V8 etc. Other than that, they look 99.9% identical anyway in real life. But yes more info would be good. I think it is just tentitive new release about future models. Just to prickle one's interest. edit// more info - http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10287706k/50/1 Edited August 6, 2014 by katoftw Link to comment

1954G
That RailStar is a must-have. The HobbySearch description mentions "coupler of current flow," which probably means that we can expect the much-loved power coupler system. Link to comment
JR 500系
hobby search http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10123992 Loco1 has them too, for slightly cheaper cost: http://www.loco1hobby.net/en/shinkansen-bullet-train/710-tomix-92822.html I think you might find them over at Nariichi san's MTP, it's not listed yet, but you can email them ~ This is really strange, since the Hikari Rail Star have been out of production for sometime now, and a sudden re-release. I hate this, cause I paid a bit of a premium when I ordered my Rail star (Tomix 92276/ 92277) through Yahoo Auctions since I really wanted a rail star, and now the newer one WITH power couplers comes up for pre-order. Hated my guts for diving into the older set at a premium for it now.... :cussing: Link to comment
JR 500系
Marine Express Odoriko E259 - How does this differ from the regular NE'X E259? That's what I wanted to know too. I think the only difference is the front logo? Thing is, I want this too, since I lack a E259. Problem is, it is a starter set; means it comes with the tracks and controllers and all, and it doesn't (yet) to have an add-on to it. Or will it use the existing E259 add-on? Link to comment
JR 500系
Wow Tomix / Tomytec is out to empty our wallets: Aside from the W7, E259 Marine Express, 2 types of 500-series, there's also: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10287663k/50/1 475 series in two colours, Hokuriku Line Blue, and Kanazawa Line Red, both HG models. Kiha-58s also available http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10287671k/50/1 113 series in Shonan colours, with a number of add-ons, including a double decker Saro carriage Although missing on HS website, there is also a 485 series (JR 485系特急電車(新潟車両センター・T18編成)セット) in HG, and also a 200 series (JR 200系東北・上越新幹線(F編成)セット) as written on Tomix's webpage: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/menu/index_sokuho.htm http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10287694 Railway collection 20. And this is interesting, http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10287709 Finally the human collection comes with stands! Easy to use! :) Edited August 7, 2014 by JR500 のぞみ Link to comment

Easy to use! :) Hmm don't like this, now down to 8 figures from 12... Bases are super easy to do with a 4mm hole punch and some clear acetate and just glue them on. Carving off the bases is a bit tricky, one slip and there goes a foot! Jeff Link to comment

Actually, I had noticed that but had discarded the info as "non relevant" since I could not find any pre-order anywhere (loco1, MTP, Ami Ami, HS). Link to comment

I posted about it on the previous page. I would love a W7, but have too many other trainset to buy to look at a W7 at the moment. Since the E7 has been readily available since it's first release. I'm feeling safe to risk it and not pre order it for now. Link to comment
westfalen
Yeah I really hope they don't discontinue the non-base HUMANs. Me too. The ones in the picture look like they are standing on a two foot thick circle of concrete. Model figures with molded on bases belong back in the days of Hornby or Lionel tinplate train sets. 1 Link to comment
cteno4
Yeah if you want bases its so much easier to make them out of discs od clear acetate or colored card stock. Jeff Link to comment
