Tomix - New Releases

Recommended Posts

Krackel Hopper

HobbySearch has posted some pretty amazing Tomix pre-orders over the last couple days.

Highlights (for me anyway)

[limited edition] Asahiyama Zoo Train (Renewal Paint)

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10241016

Already on pre-order for me.. since I'm trying to focus on Hokkaido (but not doing a great job, see below)

Tarumi Railway TDE11 (Unit 3)

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10241040

Tarumi Railway Series 14 Passenger Set (5 cars)

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10241042

I own the Tarumi TDE10 Box Set (Units 1 and 2) that Tomix released in 2006

Unit 3 and the Series 14 set are extremely tempting.. since I already have units 1 & 2..

I just post these to show how beautifully modelled these Hiroshima area KiHa 40's are! I can't see anything on the model that could possibly be done better, high grade Tomix really beats Kato.

The unmotorized cars look great but I don't like the underbody detail of the motor car: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10214796a/20/1

The large flat undetailed section really puts me off.

I don't think it's too bad; also considering that it also houses a large weight which does indeed make these models very stable. (I can tell you that because I have a JR Hokkaido Kiha 40, but I still need to look at fixing the motor) Not to forget the head and tail lights and the sign board is perfectly lightned with LEDs; again better than Kato's.

Although not as beautiful as this JR West Hiroshima area colour, I really hope Tomix will someday do the KiHa 40 series in JR Shikoku colour. MicroAce has only done the Kiha 47 and no Kiha 40.

This is interesting! It looks like a cross between the Kiha-183 Super Tokachi and the Kiha-183-2550 HET!

Well that's very early. I don't think there's any difference between the E7 and W7 though.

Also, what are those Kiha 40's with little stickers on the fronts?

Also, Railway Collection 19 has been announced. This time it's a KiHa fest. These are fairly modern trains, which I don't mind because Tomytec has done enough old train types for a while.

And this Tomix Report of the EF210-300 looks good too: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/report/n/nj_165.htm

Thanks Densha!

After looking at the 205 Tsurumi line... Perhaps i should get it? Can't wait for the Tomytec buses and BM-03 to be released!

They're on the Karasuyama Line, a JR East line, in Tochigi-ken. This is the line that's getting the EV-E301 battery-powered EMUs next year.
