Minelayer
I've seen a few of those in Tokyo and they use something similar in San Francisco to turn the cable cars around. It's also one of the features of the Brooklyn Nets stadium as seen in this youtube video. Link to comment

westfalen
Why do they blur the photos of the posters? It's not as if no one knows what the E217, EF64 or Twilight Express looks like so what is there to keep secret? Link to comment

It's not as if no one knows what the E217, EF64 or Twilight Express looks like so what is there to keep secret? Photographers' copyright on 3rd party publication and stuff. Some websites respect this right, others don't. NGI does respect it, since they get a lot of traffic and have no commercial relations with manufacturers that legitimises the use of these photos on their website. Link to comment

Ochanomizu
The 115-1000 series has included the heating of the seat. Such comfort on a cold, winter morning. Link to comment
NuclearErick
this maybe little odd question, but does the 92991 300-3000系 does come with interior light kits installed ?? Link to comment
JR 500系
Not really a very new release, but i'm very amazed to see this! http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/n/92471.htm The Nagano 2100 series (former NEX E253) Snow monkey train set just released from Tomix actually has a picture of a Snow Monkey on it! かわいい! (Kawaii - Cute!) Here's another version. This guy looks very similar to the former NEX E253, due to it's black livery: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/n/images/92470_kuha_l.jpg Very cute indeed! Link to comment

Well, from HS website here: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10164963 It says 'Optional parts - Interior lighting' so i'm thinking the interior lights should be optional so one might need to purchase outside; i.e. does not come factory installed with the set itself. Hoped that helps ~ Link to comment

westfalen
If I'm right the E253 was transferred to Nagaden and just got some stickers and put into service. After a while they repainted the train in their own livery., They also removed the toilets as I found out after not bothering to go before I boarded the train. They were still in that paint and lettering scheme as of last December. Edited May 10, 2013 by westfalen Link to comment
Densha
Aren't these sets being used for express services? An express service without toilet seems a bit... to me. Link to comment
miyakoji
Has Nagaden actually repainted those? I haven't seen any photos of a livery significantly different than the original JRE scheme. Link to comment

Densha
Ah, you mentioned that in that topic indeed. I found some other interesting Tomytec stuff. New announcements: http://ngi.blog.eonet.jp/n_gauge/2013/05/tomytec522013-9ebb.html (Railway Collection models, including two double-articulated low-floor trams hence they are making a double-articulated power chassis. cteno4
oooh 3 truck articulated! nice.more portram shells with the new rr daughters wrapping.nice to see tomytec moving into more modern stuff. reasonably priced and decent running stuff will move that more modern market forward. modemo greenmover kind of moved that market back some. kato does not seem to be doing much after the portram.while i love the full open interior of the kato portram, their price and sol situation if anything breaks is not so great for most folks. if you have any issues, you have to be talented and brave to rip them open. but most anyone could strip a tomytec mech and probably get it back together in working order.jeff Edited September 8, 2013 by cteno4 Link to comment
Densha
Yeah I'm also exited about the the Railway Collection trains. I'm waiting for my first models (including that Evangelion train). But probably won't be motorizing them as I'm not planning on letting them run, at least for the mean time. They are not the sort of trains you'd see on a heavy-rail line like I'm aiming to do someday... Link to comment
