This arrived a few days ago, but I haven't had time to run it until now:

Here's a link to it running on YouTube:

I am sooo happy with it. :love10: It won't be my last purchase from HobbySearch. An EF66 and some freight cars will probably be next at some point- watch this space!

Got this from eBay, thanks to a link from cteno4. I was the only bidder, what I think is strange for such an item, but maybe not. I'm happy with it.

Explanation from the seller.

Tohoku / Joetsu Shinkansen line .There are 7 entrance tickets for the Ueno station opening memorial.

The opening date is March 14, 1985.

The front cover is a photo of JR Series 200 Shinkansen Tohoku/Joetsu.

Broadcasting chimes at each station are recorded on the Flexi disc.

The Platform ticket is 7 sheets spelled.

Glad a forum member got it!  I was considering bidding on it, but held off at the last moment as I don't own any of the proper trains to run with it.  Now if I found a Tokaido Shinkansen recording.....  As an aside, is the small plow found on the front of the train due to the amount of snowfall on the Jotesu line?  Do any other shinkansens have plows?

Yes, and yes, most or all (someone will know better than me) of the units on the "eastern" network (i.e. lines running north from Tokyo),  though much less prominent on the newer designs.

Sasha,

Great you got it. The first go around I almost bid on it, but finally decided I had enough stuff! Glad I posted it! Enjoy!

I bought my last train set a long time (maybe 10 month) ago, I focused on layout accerssories (buildings, figures, vehicles). But 2 weeks ago during the usual dreaming on Hobby Search's homepage I ordered a KIHA48 train set beside a Tomytec truck set. It looks good and I always wanted a KIHA4x DMU.

Another small box, containing some on-sale items, the Kotochan Bus (never miss a painted bus, even if it's not N scale!) and the E2-1000 Yamabiko 3-car add-on... My E2-1000 Hayate has been missing it's add-on set for far too long, but as the original 3-car add-on for the Hayate is long sold out, I just had to go with this instead... Different Pantographs though, so expecting the rail police to show up ....

Wow that's really rare! I have never seen these before! Good buy!

Well, not very rare, but still not common. Mainly because it was pretty overpriced back when it was released. It is not a very good model after all.

UN-FOR-GIVABLE !!!  :tongue3:

After yesterdays fake-583 series, an actual 583 series arrived today.

Tomix's old Kitaguni. Unfortunately though, it only comes with one motor car. So if anyone happen to have another motor car floating around for some reason, shoot me a PM!

Is it too weak with only 1 motor car? Or do you have too many slopes?

The 10 car set usually comes with 2 motor cars. However one of the sellers must've swappet one out for an unmotorized one.

Also, I got enough cars to replicate the 12 car formation. Thus 2 motor cars would make sense.

Actually haven't spent anything on trains for months, and the last train I bought wasn't even Japanese.
