Ooooh maybe they'll come out with the 383 soon too. I think the main difference is the LED head and tail lights on the kiha-85, as well as the LED WHITE interior lighting pre-installed, versus the old model bulb type orange interior lighting. I think gangway parts are also included for connecting cabs type. Will be picking this up surely (at least the 4-car basic set) as I like the Kiha-85 and have the older Hida model. The good response of the 787 is making me wanna join in the band wagon..... Link to comment

This time round, NO interior lighting will be included.... Interior lights Unlike the off-the-shelf is the user installation. Description from Ami: -Interior lights are compatible with separately sold "11-213/214 LED Room Light Clear (Bulb Color)". JR 500系
The good response of the 787 is making me wanna join in the band wagon..... Darn resistance is truly.... futile... I made an excuse for myself saying I could run this with the 885 series which I already pre-ordered.... I really hope this is not the beginning of something I will regret later... Link to comment
serotta1972
I have to get one now since I recently got an 883. Actually after I got the 883, I began looking for a 787 as I always wanted one way back then when I first got into Kato. It's very unique. Link to comment

Kamome
2017 seems to be a Kyushu year for Kato. I love the 787 and those first releases of the Around The Kyushu version sold out quickly. I have the older Tsubame Relay and still love riding this train every time I'm in Fukuoka. Sounds like the next batch will go quick too. 2 Link to comment
katoftw
Pretty rare to see Kyushu trains released in this frequency. Better ride the wave of excitement while we can. We won't see it again until 2022. haha 2 Link to comment

ToniBabelony
It's not really officially announced yet, but on the 18th of December, a possible demonstration of the newest Kato Sound Card will be held at the Shinjuku Kato Hobby Centre. It will be totally different from the previous releases and will feature some serious local railway line rumble. I'll try to attend, but I can't promise anything. It's a very very busy season for the family at the moment (and it has nothing to do with the christian holidays xD). 1 Link to comment

Fenway Park
Agreed, the original C11 was one of the early Kato models but after the C50. It has served Kato well but is way overscale for 1:150. It is nearer to 1/130. The new version looks superb and will challenge the Tomix model of C11 325. It looks like Kato have changed the variant of the C11 as their poster showed one with the tank supports over the boiler. The model shown is for the most common type of C11. Most welcome and I cannot wait until next year for its release. Link to comment
JR 500系
Here's some photos of soon to-be-released Kato models: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/2016/12/kato-e265.html The differences between the old and the new C11 model is astonishing. The 521 series looks amazing! It's like a silver 227 Red wing! Didn't know it came with the fall protection bits. I had trouble with the Red Wing for these fall protection bits, let's do hope Kato does a better job than Tomix for this... The Shibuya Hikarie is also amazing... Really tempting to get, and would swore I would get it if I hadn't already have a GreenMax one... Link to comment
JR 500系
Just a quick shout out to anyone who ordered/ thinking of ordering the upcoming Kiha-85 Wide View Hida/ Nanki sets... http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=104&cat=rail&target=ItemSeries&searchkey=Assy+Parts HS had began listing extra parts from Kato, which is quite hard to find in other online retailers. Special attention should be for the seal: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10437143 which will give you an extra decal sheet, so that you have one used, and one still in mint condition ~ http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10437101 And of course, what is better than an extra power unit! As Kiha-85 formations are great in variety, this extra motor will allow even better running consists! Now your Kiha-85 can run in whichever formations you like! http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10437152 I grabbed these too, supposedly they are for the hood adaptors that are between cars.... I do hope Tomix would do the same... as in having extra parts that can be ordered. This will even provide extra motor for that 313-8000 Central liner that would definitely benefit from having an extra motor to run in a separate 3 car consist... kvp
I don't know where to put this, but Faller has released a lasercut station kit that matches the RhB Allegra sets: http://www.en.dm-toys.de/produktdetails/items/Faller_212121.html Several railway station buildings of timber construction and same ground plan, in part mirror-inverted, have been set up along the Chur-Arosa line of the Rhaetian Railway. Those buildings that were erected nearly 90 years ago remarkably match the landscape. Link to comment

I am screaming with joy at that Musashino line! The long wait is finally over! interesting release on that Kiha-110 in bright Orange JNR colour... and the re-release of the E217... together with the E2-2000 in older Tusbasa colour.. I think the E3-2000 old colour was missing from Kato's roster? Edited January 13, 2017 by JR 500系 3 Link to comment
