railsquid
The DE-10 looks like a re-release, I have that exact same model already. I do like the Rhätische Bahn. But first I need the Glacier Express (Mrs. Squid likes it) and I've just worked out how to fit in a mountain resort-style station on my layout. Edited February 12, 2015 by railsquid Link to comment
kvp
The cars from the Glacier express are usually pulled by an Allegra ABe 8/12 or two ABe4/4-s on the Bernina line between St. Moritz and Tirano. It would be good to know if the Kato Allegra will have a rapido coupler option or not. Link to comment

Fenway Park
C12 announced for release Catalogue number 2022-1 June/July 2015 plus new wagons. Should soften the blow that Tramway have postponed their C11. Translation states cancelled but on careful reading I think it allows purchasers to cancel their pre orders. I'm thinking of creating a Mooka Railway collection, as I quite regularly visit Shimodate and this company slowly starts to grow on me. They run the C11 325 and C12 66, as well as have a semi-static 9600 on display. All trains (even the static KIHA20s, DE10s and cars) can be obtained as models, except the nine MOOKA14 type DMU... These will have to be scratch built. Link to comment

westfalen
Scratch that last post, I see by their website that they are. No luck if you want the Mooka loco though, Kato's numbers are 42, 46, 51 and 67. http://www.katomodels.com/n/c12/ Link to comment

JR 500系
Just spotted on HS website! http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10315928 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10315934 E257-500 series Wakashio! Interesting! Microace used to make this set: A8990 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10237841 Old Skirt and A8991 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10237842 New Skirt! I'm getting this one! Interesting to see the direction Kato is moving to... This E257-500 is not exactly a surprise since Kato used to make the previous E257 Asuza/ Kaiji so this is just more or less a re-painting of the same mould... Here's a video of it's prototypical set: *Side note - don't you guys think this train stops too sudden and moves off equally fast suddenly? Edited March 10, 2015 by JR500 のぞみ 1 Link to comment

Guest keio6000
Just spotted on HS website! Happy to hear you are excited.. but.. why (unless personal affinity)? the reason i ask is that MA made this in one of their "super premium" wooden cases versions which even then they could barely sold (sold for almost nothing on yahoo jp), so i figured this was not so popular and pretty much everybody who wanted one already had one. Ken Ford
I see Kato is rerunning the Kiha110s, too - for some reason I've always found them attractive. Link to comment
Densha
I already have a whole fleet of KiHa 110's. Link to comment

Ken Ford
I already have a whole fleet of KiHa 110's. But aren't the new ones different numbers? (Evil grin) I have to cool it for awhile, I've been buying w-a-y too much lately. But maybe when these are released... Link to comment
Densha
I don't think this release will have different car numbers from the 2013 release, of which this is a re-release I presume. The 2013 release did have different car numbers from the older release though (and LED lightning instead of bulbs). My fleet consists of both releases, but I 'only' have one of every type. (all powered/unpowered 1-car/2-car combinations) Now on its way is a fleet of non-Kato stuff, after that I don't have anything interesting left for me to buy (nor the funds). Well, of course there is enough interesting stuff, but not interesting enough (read: not in the region I'm focussing on) that it warrants me spending my precious money on it. Well, I did see those MicroAces model on Yahoo Auctions, but I didn't know why I didn't like them till now... I have the E255 Wide View Wakashio who shares this same colour scheme, and the E257 Kaiji/ Asuza which shares the same body. I reckon a combination of both of these will indeed be fine, and definitely sweeter del with a much cheaper pricing for a brand new set pre-ordered than a USED one or even a NEW one add in Yahoo fees and bank fees and shipping when taken off Yahoo Auctions. The front is growing on me, looks really nice with the lighted LED on the front and the triple head lights ~ Link to comment
mattdwnunder
I notice on Hobby Search that there are a range of bits and pieces available to reserve for the new Kato C12 including dual couplers front and back snow plows front and rear and various replacement parts. Does anyone know if the snow plows and dual couplers come with the original item or if they are present to provide a different variation? Link to comment
katoftw
Normally all those are just for spare parts as they come in packs of 5 or 10. Best to look at each one individually, if it is for 1 qty only, then it is probably an add on. If larger packs, then they are for parts, and most likely come with the model. Link to comment

JR 500系
The new Toreiyu Tsubasa is truly flashy! http://www.katomodels.com/hobbycenter/product/roundhouse/000460.php The colouring is really nice! Really glad I managed to get the pre-order for this! Link to comment
katoftw
Yes is it. The other with what looks like underpants on its head has great colours also. Link to comment
Krackel Hopper
I'm still really bummed about the Kato/Roundhouse Toreiyu. I wanted to pre-order but I'm just not crazy about the fact it is not an accurate model. Kato just re-used their E3 mold with a new paint job. The Toreiyu E3 has a different window arrangement from the E3. I came to accept that I made the right choice by not pre-ordering. However, seeing everyone post their new arrival has me questioning my decision again! Link to comment
