shadowtiger25
NWSL have both - a wheel press and a quartering tool. http://www.nwsl.com/uploads/chap1_TOOLS_02-15.pdf Was your C62 new or second-hand? I ask because if it's new I'd be returning it to the seller for replacement or refund. All the best, Mark. Second hand. Unfortunately. Even if it was new the place I normally use to import doesn't do returns.. But I did how ever report the seller, so maybe I'll get some money back for the fact they lied and said it was working Link to comment
ozman2009
The postman brought me a package of Z scale goodies from ModelTrainPlus. Inside the package were an EF210-100, a pair of blue container wagons and a set of four blue JNR limited express coaches. Thank you Nariichi-san! (did I get the name right?) Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
Not a model train, but a new means to carry around Kanjiyama...1:1 scale. My old car - a 17 year old V70 - is finally on its way out. I collect my new steed this coming weekend! :) Edited March 2, 2015 by Claude_Dreyfus Link to comment
ozman2009
Very suave! Will Kanjiyama fit into a station wagon of that size? Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
Oh yes, Kanjiyama splits into two 4' x 1'6" sections. Plenty of room! Link to comment
Ken Ford
I received a box today from Nariichi at MTP containing my first of two HO DE10s and another Hoki2200. It amazes me how I get packages faster from Japan than from California, and there isn't much difference in shipping cost either. Link to comment
Ken Ford
Wow, the Kato DE10 is an impressive model! Link to comment
Claude_Dreyfus
The Kato DE10s are lovely models...although the vast number of detailing parts take forever to fit! Strangely, they are trickier fit that the N gauge equivalent... Link to comment
marknewton
Two parcels arrived this morning, one from our own Keitaro, and the other from JAUCE. Keitaro's parcel contained two of the new Tramway 8620 class 2-6-0s, and the current Tomix catalog. The JAUCE parcel contained a Kato EF58, a Kato Kumoha40, three Kato Koki2200s , and a rather lovely Tenshodo 9600 class 2-8-0. I'm booked off tonight so I'm off to the club to give them all a run - woohoo! :) Photos/video will follow. Cheers, Mark. 1 Link to comment
katoftw
The fees must have added up on those Jauce orders? When the Buyee website was down I looked up Jauce and nearly choked on what I read were their fees. Ouch! Edited March 6, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
wazzd
I found a shop in Matsumoto that has lots of HO scale...those Tenshodo locos are great, they had a display case with 2 C62 2 locos.....very nice, and compared to a Eureka loco the price is pretty good too.....I still want a Kato d51 first though! 1 Link to comment
marknewton
I'd have to sit down and work out what the total fees were. Do you reckon I'd get a better deal using Buyee instead? Cheers, Mark. Link to comment
Ken Ford
I'd have to sit down and work out what the total fees were. Do you reckon I'd get a better deal using Buyee instead? Cheers, Mark. I have the same question - I just tried JAUCE for two items and the fees were eyewatering. Link to comment
katoftw
I've been using Buyee for my yahoo purchases. This is my take on the two:- Buyee item sale fee = 500jpy or 10%, whichever is greater Jauce item sale fee = 800jpy + 8%, 400jpy + 8% if you win another auction within 24hours Buyee bank trasfer fee = 200jpy Jauce bank transfer fee = 300jpy Buyee deposit fee = n/a Jauce deposit fee = 40jpy + 3.9% Buyee lets you pay using a credit card, and they only charge you when you win the auction. Where Jauce you have to have an account with the fund already in there. And they charge you to put money into that account. The fee structure is so much cheaper for Buyee:- Buy a 2500 item on Buyee, pay 2500 + 500 + 200 = 3200. Buy the same item with Jauce, pay 2500 + 800 + 200 + 300 = 3800. Buy a 7500 item on Buyee, pay 7500 + 750 + 200 = 8450. Buy the same item on Jauce, pay 7500 + 800 + 600 + 300 = 9200. And that is just the won auction fees. You still have to factor in the account transfer costs for Jauce. And I'm not sure what Jauce charge for combining boxes into 1 etc. But Buyee charge 500 yen for 2 into 1, and 1000 yen for 3 or more into 1. I hope this info helps you. Ken Ford
I think JAUCE just charged me 1200 to combine boxes. I'm definitely going to check out Buyee! Link to comment
Ken Ford
My second DE10 arrived today - this one a 1-703 in early paint to better fit with my interest in doing a small switching layout. Link to comment
ozman2009
The postman delivered three Z scale kits from Hobby Search: Advance signal box Advance yard office Sankei temple. These are all laser cut, but at this stage I don't know what the material is. Find out next week! Link to comment
marknewton
KFTW, I'll also be using Buyee in future. Thanks for taking the time to present that information, I did find it very helpful. :) All the best, Mark. Link to comment

katoftw
Just a heads up. Buyee is gonna start offering SAL shipping and a few other options. Another savings to be had. Link to comment
1954G
Just a heads up. Buyee is gonna start offering SAL shipping and a few other options. Another savings to be had. That's good news. But their site is still a bit unclear on whether or not registered SAL and other options are available. http://buyee.jp/help/yahoo/guide/faq/faq11 Q.Are there any shipping methods besides EMS and UPS available? A. We only offer shipping via EMS or UPS. It is not possible to use another shipping method. Yet Registered SAL is listed as one of their shipping methods on this page: http://buyee.jp/help/yahoo/guide/shipping-method Link to comment
katoftw
Email them. I'd assume that since they just introduced different shipping options, that the FAQ for example hasn't been updated. The banner on the home page referencing new options and saying click here to see is pretty solid for me. Edited March 16, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
cteno4
Their table is showing insurance on the Sal and I believe you can only get that with sal if you do the tracking registration. Unfortunately the last few months SAL here to the U.S. has been about 30 days ave for the last three packages... Bummer as twice as long as it use to be. I'm hoping it was just bad weather stuff here on the us end... Jeff Link to comment
katoftw
It does say SAL with tracking, which is normally small parcel like what Nariichi-san offers. It is still an express service, just not as quick as EMS. Link to comment
cteno4
SAL and small Packet SAL usually come to the US in the same amount of time. Small packet has an upper weight limit to it of 2kg and max package size. both can get the registration added for like 400yen that gives some insurance as well. small packets use to come a bit quicker some of the time, but no longer to the US in my experience. cheers jeff Link to comment
