Tomix - New Releases

Recommended Posts

The railcars are great, but what I really like is the little wooden passenger car. How good is that!!!

Cheers,

Mark.

This Toei 10-000 model from Tomytec is also quite surprising: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/items/pdf/newitem_20170112_09.pdf, as well as a JNR 207 Series: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/items/pdf/newitem_20170112_05.pdf It's quite a new thing for them to release full sized (or at least devided into two sets) ten-car consists. Tomytec did so before with the JR/JNR 201 Series and the Tōbu 8000 (new front), but it seems they have developed some kind of market for these.

Personally, I'm all for it, though I probably won't get any of the add-on sets, as I'm quite confined in terms of running and storage space. The Toei 10-000 goes on my list! Despite its obscure gauge, I really dig the front design and would fit well as an intruder in my weird collection.

I do hope there is a video or something coming up soon for the Tomix platform and sound box... I would love to see the actual ascetics of the platforms, and also how the sound box will sound...

While the new platforms look nice at first glance, they do cost quite a fair bit more due to the lights... Since I have already fitted my Kato platforms, I may just skip this one as fitting those people on the platforms are seriously difficult and time consuming....

With that sound box, if it sounds good, I can strike away that Taiwan controller I have been targeting for sometime now ~

The new platforms have non light versions also.  Which pricing is more in line with normal platforms.  2000is for full set. 1500ish for extension set. 1000ish for grade up set, (which is lifts, shops etc).

Surprising to see Tomix release the 10-300 recently, and now Tomytec do the 10-000.

Might have to get me one of them, I'm not passionate enough about Toei trains to shell out for a proper motorized one but I lived close to Sasazuka station back in the 90s and took these a lot.

Two new Chikuho Electric Railway articulated trams. Very close to what Densha was looking for in Hiroshima.

Very close to a Hiroden 3000 that Densha mentioned today . Riyotoyukai videos.

These are probably appearing because they are close to retirement.

The Chikuho 2000 type and Hiroden 3000 type, they are the same bodies with minor details, as they both origin from the old Nishitetsu 1000 type: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/西鉄1000形電車_(軌道), so it's only a matter of time the Hiroden 3000 type will be released, as well as other similar types. I really should seriously think about doing something with trams...

Big news for blue train fans, Tomix is releasing a Fuji (circa 1999-2009) this May. What's special about this release is the sheer variety of 2000s Kyushu blue train formations you can run once you buy the basic set, add-on, and the three individually sold cars various combinations. You can run a Fuji, Fuji-Hayabusa, or a Sakura-Hayabusa (the last of which I hadn't even heard of until today).

As luck would have it, Kato is releasing a set of head marks suitable for all three of those blue trains this April (11-353).

I haven't been this excited about a new release for some time. :love4:

For a Fuji or a Sakura-Hayabusa (2002-2005), you should buy 98626 and 98627.

http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/n/98627.htm

For a Fuji-Hayabusa (2005-2009), you should buy two copies of 98626.

http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/n/98626.htm

And for a Fuji or a Sakura-Hayabusa (1999-2002), you need 98626, 98627, 9512, and two copies of 9513.

http://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/products/n/9513.htm

Because I'm crazy, I'm contemplating buying 98626 (x2), 98627, 9512, and 9513 (x2).

Does anyone have the train consist lists for these 3 services in the 1980-1990 interval and if these sets could be used to reconstruct them?

Edit: i found some of it: https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Hayabusa_Fuji_1986-1999

Kvp, I think you might want to look at the upcoming Kato 10-1406/10-1407 Hayabusa. According to the HobbySearch info, it is supposed to be a very late 1980s formation right after JNR was privatized.

It's cool that even though Tomix and Kato are both releasing Fuji/Hayabusa blue trains at the same time, they are slightly different formations/eras.  One might consider buying both, haha.

Under: <8715> 国鉄貨車 ヨ5000形(黄緑6号)
which is: Railway freight car Yo 5000 form (Yellow green No. 6) and Yo means it's a caboose, but i might be wrong as it has riveted metal sides

Is that a list of tomix's upcoming releases?  Looks like they are doing a JNR version of the kiha 66/67 set.

The Yo 5000 is a steel caboose. The passenger cars with the C11 are also steel so I am not sure what Mark is talking about.
