Hi Erick! Please refer to http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10304583k/50/1 Tried finding the official Tomix one but couldn't... Anyhow, it's written フック・U字型通電カプラー採用 and also on HS site: 'Hook · U-shaped conducting coupler equipped' so I reckon that would mean they will have the power couplers. In fact, it would be highly strange that the new shinkansens would come without when the older models like the E5 and E6 have them. :) E3 Nasuno? Now that's a strange one... Anyhow, it's good since the older Komachi doesn't have the power couplers. Also nice is that there's an E3-2000 for the old Tsubasa colour ~ :) Tomix, where's the Toreyu? Lastly, I think there's a typo from the website here: 92565 E3 2000系山形新幹線(つばさ・新塗装)増結セット(3両) 11,200円+税 should be: 92565 E3 2000系山形新幹線(つばさ・新塗装)増結セット(4両) 11,200円+税 One Question: Is there a difference between this Nasuno E3 and the previous Komachi E3? I think the only difference is that the Komachi logo is missing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-EjSs0LGmA Edited December 11, 2014 by JR500 のぞみ Link to comment

Krackel Hopper
A few things on my "need" list. I hope Tomix does a limited edition H5.. but either way I'll be getting the Tomix H5 for the all wheel pickups. EH800 is another must have for me. I wonder if Kato will do this loco. My collection is a little strange. MicroAce makes up the majority of my sets with Tomix a close 2nd and only a handful of Kato. However, Kato makes up the overwhelming majority of my locomotives, followed by MicroAce and only a handful of Tomix. Link to comment

Microace is the leader in variety huh. it`s a shame it is a total pain in the ass to add knuckle couplers to them. i done a few but the risk on some of them is too great. I agree with the eh800 i know it was a failure of a loco but i actually liked the look of the ed500 lol, and would probably buy one. prepares to go into hiding ... katoftw
it is a diorama mat. if you have a look real closely. you'll see alot of tomytec buildings. blue roof games parlour. both tan and orange condos. tcs automatic gates etc. probably will take C280 and C317 curves. so you roll out your mat on the floor. place your track and building down. plug you power pack into the wall socket. commence fun times. JR 500系
it is a diorama mat. So I reckon it's just a mat, and then you follow what is drawn on the mat and place the buildings, tracks etc. on it respectively? Like a child's mat? :) Link to comment

Like a child's mat? I had a similar one for TT scale when i was little and they are still very popular in the UK. The good thing is they can get upgraded. You start with an oval and a station with 2 tracks. Then add the external oval. Then maybe a crossover on the straight part or curved turnouts (which fit into the place of one double track 90 degree curve). Actually this mat is built very nicely. You can even have a few extras, like a short stub track coming off from the 3rd track without disturbing the scenery. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Yoo! Tomytec has just presented its newest releases and it's looking GOOD! Gakunan ED40. A relatively modern private railway electric engine. A very attractive one at that! Tōbu 8000 Series with renewed front for the Tōjō Line. You can say this was already coming. The private releases by Tōbu are already are very popular, and this public release will probably be popular as well. Released will be a basic 4-car set, a 4-car middle-car add-on set and a 2-car add-on set. I must say, I'm very keen on the 2-car set they're planning. Next in the planning is the 21st Tetsudo Collection with the Keio 3000 as a base: - Hokuriku Railway 8800 Series (single door ver.); - Jyōmō Electric Railway 700 Type (green front); - Alpico Traffic 3000 Type (double pantographs; a.k.a. Matsumoto Electric Railway); - Gakunan 8000 Type (only one in existence, but you can rebuild this to a 7000 Type easily); - Secret (I presume Iyo Railway 3000 Type). And last but not least, Kumamoto Electric Railway 6000 Type. A former Toei 6000 Type in 2-car formation. Very attractive as well... I can already see this being released as a 3-car Chichibu Railway 5000 Type soon after this, as Tomytec likes to reuse its shells with slight alterations. Sauce: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/2015/02/tomytec2015-30b6.html This is too much awesome for me... 1 Link to comment

katoftw
Where can I find more offical info on the Kumamoto Electric Railway 6000 series model release? Tomix/Tomytec website is a minefield. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
So, it seems I was wrong about my speculations on the Iyo Railway 3000 Type being the undefined train in the 21st Tetsudo Collection. http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/items/1502/26_tetsudou05.pdf Kōbe Dentetsu 1353 and 1354. These actually run in a fixed 4-car formation with 1355 and 1356, so getting four of these (and renumbering them) would actually make a realistic train. I must really constrain myself not to buy these when this collection is released! I suspect the Iyo Railway 3000s to be released as separate trains, as Iyo seems to be quite popular. Also, release dates for Tomytec trains: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/tomytec-schedule.html Easy to read and follow than the rather chaotic Tomytec site. Link to comment
katoftw
It is a bit of a bummer that the prices of some stuff is rising BIGTIME! 3400jpy for motor units and 1000jpy for trailer parts. considering that making a 2 car train already cost around 6900jpy. this will top them out around 7400jpy. and they dont even have lights. both tomix and kato sell 2 car units with lights for cheaper than that. i just did a big tomytec order on stuff have have been eyeing off to beat the price rise. ToniBabelony
Toei 6000? Awwwwww yeeeaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!! :D But.. When? If ever, they will announce it. I suspect a Chichibu version to be released, after the Kamoto one which will be released in summer (according to the site in my post above), sooner than an actual Toei version. Link to comment
ToniBabelony
So, Tomytec has released new information and updates on new Collection trains. This time some very exciting news once again! For June: - Kumamoto 6000 type (Kumamon Wrapping); - Kumamoto 6000 series (6211 consist); For July: - Keihan 700 type 2nd release (Keion! Wrapping); - Keihan 600 type 1st release (flat front window); - Kumamoto Municipal Transport 0800 ([COCORO] Wrapping); Release schedule: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/tomytec-schedule.html The Keihan 700 type reveals a new series of Ōtsu line trains, I'm predicting. There are only five consists in operation, so seeing the massive popularity of the 600 type (10 consists in operation), Tomytec will probably release most -if not all- variants as well. All fans are now rubbing their hands and cursing their bank account. For realz, I'm very keen on the pimp baller Kumamon train, as I think I can actually legitimately purchase this one and not upset my wife xD Also, the new bogies with red accents under this train interest me. Tomytec. You're teasing us too much. 2 Link to comment
JR 500系
Yes indeed the Kumamon on the train looks sweetly cute! Is that a street train? From the website, i'm hyped to see this the most: 新 バスコレクション 茨城交通 ガールズ&パンツァーバス3号車 1,400円+税 Bus Collection Girls and Panzer Tourist bus http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10316288 Looks nice! 1 Link to comment
ToniBabelony
Yes indeed the Kumamon on the train looks sweetly cute! Is that a street train? It's a train running on a long-type grade crossing, like Enoden. This section is on the Fujisaki-line. However, the train tracks and road are separated in a sense where road vehicles are discouraged from entering the tracks, as the tracks are on a gravel bed. Some houses on the opposite side of the tracks do have car parkings, so drivers have to negate the gravel bed to get to that place. Lawfully seen, this is a street-running section indeed.
