ED75-775
Today’s fun: some Kansai area running with my MicroAce Keihan 800-series and Tomix 103-series. The 800 needs some minor mechanical attention due to some funny noises from the motor, but otherwise is perfect. 3 Link to comment
ED75-775
Some more steam-era shots with my 8620s, C12s and C57s (plus a cameo from my EF66): My brand new Kato C57 with a mixed passenger consist. Runs very sweetly, I’m glad I got this one. Pairing my 7142 EF66 with the 98735 Express Freight set, this was the first time I had the freight set out and running. Yard view: C12 67 on shunt duty, 28643 and 58698 ready to double-head a Hanawa Line freight service, and C57 97 with a van freight. This is what happens when your handbrakes slip off... I can just hear it now: ”Luckily, no one was hurt. But the Fat Controller was cross!” Edited August 24, 2021 by ED75-775 8 Link to comment

marknewton
My son and I are going to visit our club tomorrow night for the first time in a long time. So this evening there were some locos running trial trips on the Kitchenbenchbahn to get them ready: Cheers, Mark. 6 Link to comment

marknewton
You're not wrong, Jeff, she's a keeper. ❤️ This a short video of the D51 earning it's keep at the club tonight. I was in two minds about buying this particular engine because of the price, but now I'm glad I did. Problem is that I'd like another one so I can doublehead... 🙄 Cheers, Mark 7 Link to comment

JR East
Sunny Sunday, time to use the dining room table to play a bit First my Tobu 500 I really love the metallic effet of the cupper strips I've added as well as the accuracy of the gangway. Then a run of my Saphir Odoriko going to Tokyo. We're in summer, no jacket aboard for the driver Close to the windows of the balcony is the the best place to shoot and demo the X-Lite Car n°1 must definitely be fitted with yellow-bulb color Happy Sunday. marknewton
Tonight's my last night of annual leave, so the boy and I went down to the club for running night. I took my three MicroAce KiHa 40s along. The motored car is a bugger to get on the track due to the design of the trucks/bogies, but once it's on it runs sweetly, and has ample power to haul two trailers. Cheers, Mark. I did at one point (with a temporary setup) have an elevated single curved track which crossed a pair of curved tracks at an angle, and one of the elevated curved track sections was supported by nothing else than its connections to the adjacent track sections. railsquid
Talking of MicroAce, slowly going through my collection of JGR/JNR brown DC locos to make sure they run reasonably and don't reveal too many surprises with the layout trackwork. So far so good, but I'm only on the EF10s... rear-level-crossing-1-2021-10-29_01 by Rail Squid, on Flickr Edited October 29, 2021 by railsquid 4 Link to comment
cteno4
Always great to find the crankiest train and then use it as your inspection vehicle. One of our clubmembers had a huge Unitrak layout and the Bachmann Amtrak acela was the best to test for track geometry hit was all loose) and clearances. If we could get it around each very large and twisting loop once, then all the other trains were fine! jeff 1 Link to comment
railsquid
This is my default inspection train: upper-left-curve-2021-10-12_01 by Rail Squid, on Flickr Kato EF57 - lovely loco but has very light leading trucks which spring off the track at the slightest provocation Kato 0-series car (for width clearance) Fleischmann double-decker (for overhang and height) And the E1 or E4 Shinkansen for good measure. But running a variety of locos in particular helps find the odd issue, for example the MicroAce ED17 has some very low-hanging bits on the bogies which showed up a few spots where the trackside scenery needed cutting down. 2 Link to comment
bill937ca
Running my Tomytec Berlin GT6 on my R103 layout. It is binding in the curves and there are a lot of curves on this layout. Not sure if this is the body or the drive. I've still got the Kato My Tram and Kato Greenmover LEX trams to run on the layout. Right now I am working on adding Greenmax sidewalks to the right angle corners at the front of the layout. Going to add a square up front so I can have some green trees and maybe a fountain. FOLLOW UP: The Tomytec TM-LRT04 chassis does not handle Super Mini Rail R103 curves. Not a problem as it was more a photo shoot anyways. Just have to stick to four axle and Portram Tomytec trams. brill27mcb
Good to know that the Tomytec TM-LRT04 chassis does not handle Tomix Super Mini R103 curves. Thanks for sharing that, Bill! Rich K. 1 Link to comment

Presumably that would be the body; the drive itself seems to run (see towards end of this video): though I've never got round to trying it out with the body fitted. 1 Link to comment
bill937ca
For the TM-LRT04 I'm going by the description on Hobby Search says "The super mini curve rail does not correspond." which on dealer pages is usually a direct copy of the manufacturer's description. The Berlin body has two articulations so that would that much more resistance. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10421171 Your tram (on the preview photo) has the TM-LRT01 drive which I will try soon once I rummage through my Tomytec plastic box of tram wonders. 🙂 https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10311084 Edited October 31, 2021 by bill937ca Link to comment

The product description: https://www.tec-station.jp/shop/g/g4543736TM-LRT04/ does indeed say: ・ミニカーブレール(C140)対応 ・スーパーミニカーブレール(C103)には対応していません。 i.e. compatible with C140 curves; not compatible with C103 curves. 1 Link to comment
