Scenes in the summer of 1985, the twilight of JNR on the Tohoku Main Line, somewhere near Kurihashi Station. Partially airconditioned 115 series units, unremarkable (back then!) 185 series- glory in the roar of their mt54 traction motors, 583 series on long distance services to Aomori, blue trains...later a selection of freight, including a mixed freight, capped by an ef58 pulling a rake of old coaches on a special train. Check out other vids by this user for similar mid-eighties content.

Hello all, I have been adding the detail parts and dcc'ing a Kato ef58 that i've had for some time. When I took the body off, I noticed that there are guides above the cabs for tail lights, as well as the headlights. Shining a light through the body confirmed that the light was delivered to the lenses for the tail lights, so I set about adding some leds to illuminate the tail lights, as there is space to do so. Inside the ef58. LEDs can be added to the grey box at either end of the model. I used 3mm LEDs, pre wired with a resistor. Grey box removed. The guide for the headlight lens goes through the gap on the left, you need to drill a hole on the right hand side for the light to pass through.

I feel stupid for having to ask this, but I acquired some train marks from Moyira Studio for my C62 locomotive to complete my Hato Limited Express. (See the link below to get an idea of what I'm talking about). https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10119471 The problem is that I cannot figure out how to place it on my locomotive since it will not slip onto the prototypical metal post that was built for it, nor does the locomotive have an internal magnet to hold it in place either (and even if there was a magnet in the locomotive for that, it would not help since even neodymium magnets struggle to hold onto the alloy the train mark is made from). So how do I place my train marks? So far, I've tried fooling around with loose pieces of ferromagnetic staples in the hope that I could glue a bent staple to the mark then externally hold it onto the locomotive with a magnet I found in the garage, but the results have been mixed.
