  1. Hi all, it's been a while since I've been here. No layout yet, but the rolling stock keeps on coming. One of my latest acquisitions was quite lucky, especially after a first attempt at securing one on the Japanese forums but that was probably for the best as I am now in possession of a near mint MicroAce Galaxy Express 999 TV version set. The box is in excellent condition, and I believe everything is accounted for in the set. It looks amazing, and I'm blown away by the size of the mini figures too. I've yet to give the loco a run to see what running state it's in. It was bought new from the shop by the previous owner, and kept as a collector's item so I doubt it has had many runs if any at all. I am also scared to run it somewhat, but I must see it in action and when I do eventually get around to building a layout, it will grace it. I plan to test the engine this Saturday, so will probably take photos of it all on the track. I am interested in the reason why MicroAce decided to provide all 4 guns for the gun car, but I have had the idea of suspending the complete train, or having it on clear perspex to get a shot down the train with the guns posed as some sort of diorama shot.
  2. Not all of the trains in this video I posted are Japanese , but a sizable amount of airtime is dedicated to the C62, its 'hato' express in tow, plus two liveries of the Kairyu 4-4-4t (including the Manchurian Railways and Post Revolution versions respectively). I appreciate the input that people have provided to me over the years and am thankful my channel as a whole has come so far.
  3. I feel stupid for having to ask this, but I acquired some train marks from Moyira Studio for my C62 locomotive to complete my Hato Limited Express. (See the link below to get an idea of what I'm talking about). https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10119471 The problem is that I cannot figure out how to place it on my locomotive since it will not slip onto the prototypical metal post that was built for it, nor does the locomotive have an internal magnet to hold it in place either (and even if there was a magnet in the locomotive for that, it would not help since even neodymium magnets struggle to hold onto the alloy the train mark is made from). So how do I place my train marks? So far, I've tried fooling around with loose pieces of ferromagnetic staples in the hope that I could glue a bent staple to the mark then externally hold it onto the locomotive with a magnet I found in the garage, but the results have been mixed.
