Today brought Kato's 10-1432, 10-car set of Koki 106/107's courtesy of Train Trax and an eBay buy, Kato 3-512, a brand new HO scale twin Koki 104 set won for the ridiculous sum of £21.37.

That HO scale stuff does look good.......

Finally had a few parts and pieces roll in from ZM. Got some JC25 couplers, along with some wheels and other misc couplers for a few small projects. Everything was nicely packed in their own, individual plastic bags, which was very nice compared to Buyee throwing everything inside of a tube of bubble wrap...

To top it off, the long-awaited Tobu 10000-series 10-car set finally showed up! Along with another 30000-series 4-car set. But knowing my history with those things, I probably shouldn't have gotten it, since I'll just crash it into another train, like I always do! 😂

(Hey, wait, when did the emojis get updated?!)

I'm trying not to stray too far from a couple of railroads, since that's what I did in HO scale, and it turned into a huge mess of having a ton of trains for every railroad, a lot of which didn't belong on a Norfolk Southern-themed layout.

I'll probably start working on a small fleet of Chichibu equipment next, once I have a bit more money, but who knows when that will be, ha!

The other part of it is I'd like to have a big yard for one railroad, which is what I'm working on now, and it'll need to be filled with rolling stock, since there's not a lot of point to having an empty yard.

@JR 500系 Now were you serious about selling that 6-car Crayon Shin Chan set?

Haha I know what you mean.. I tried staying dedicated to JR East and look what has happened to a non-committed weak-minded collector like me... haha

@Philphil yes actually I am serious, if you are interested! It's the  50568, Yellow Shin-Chan design 6-car set... it's so new, I haven't even removed it from the box yet! I have another Tomytec Tobu 6050 Renewed car set too and would be great to totally clear my Tobu rolling stock!  🙂  If you are, i'll drop you a private message!  🙂

Despite missed the first DHL delivery. My order from Amazon JP arrived.

My first E231 Joban-Tokyo line 6 car set to add to my 2 E231 Yamanote Lin 8 car sets. I'll probably order a second Johan-Tokyo line next month. I'll probably leave these as 6 car sets as my station can only go up to 8 cars. Although I could split one add on set between the 2. But then I'd have different amounts of pantographs per train.

Also arrived is the Tomix track cleaner and a Kato ED75 to pull it.

Most expensive order I have done in a long time. haha

500 yen for a 2 pack of 883/885 pantographs.  Lost the head collector part of the 885 pantograph long ago in a running session.

The E235 is on my list in a couple of months. Want to grab the basic set for the Bernina Express (to go with the add on I already have) and buy a new telescope mount first though.

Nothing too exciting here, been buying a bit of Minitrix UK stock in the form of the locos ten year old me couldn't afford when they were still for sale new. Did order some Tomix TN couplers for my 105 and 119 Series fleet, one pack each of black and grey ones for now will kit the bulk of my fleet out.

Just a couple of things from a small AmiAmi package. I pre ordered two of the Tomix busses long ago, and when the time for payment came, I decided to add a few things onto it. Just some couplers from Kato and Tomix, along with a set of track painting markers to try out. Nothing big amazing should arrive for awhile.

Well my slightly delayed AmiAmi pre-order arrived today, some items in it indicate a fundamental shift in direction for a future layout. I have decided to expand my JRF fleet to pretty much anything that runs on the Tokaido Honsen, the EF200, will come in handy to deal with my growing fleet of Kato freight wagons. I also got the Taki 1000’s to finally finish off filling my 98971 case, plus more Koki’s equals the need for more containers.

Got my smart controller today. Running yamanote e231 and e235. Sorry no unboxing pictures. Things don't stay in boxes long when they come in The mail😁 The e231 yamanote also came today.

The smart controller works fine. Like any controller it takes some dialing in and getting used to. The start up is a bit delayed so getting the "start" adjusted right is gonna take some time.

Stopping is tricky but I think a good method is making speed markers of what % the train is moving. With my e231 yamanote I figured if it's

Moving at 29% and I switch to 0%, it takes 8 car lengths to stop. Little things like that help.

So far I like it. Maybe I will give a full review later.

It looks cool. What exactly does it do? I mean, apart from powering the track. What's the 'smart' part? I see what looks like a sound cartridge and a 'mic imput'. Does it give a realistic loco driver experience?

From what I've seen, the smart controller is the box on the left, the part on the right is the kato sound box which the smart controller lets hook up to your smartphone.
