Kudos to Loco1Hobby. I ordered a tomytec powered chassis on Feb 24 and it was delivered yesterday (March 3)! Pretty darn quick in my opinion.

Sal has been really quick last few months.

Except in australia where they seem to hold the package for no reason at all at one place.

Hello Mr Sohan24,

Digitrax Zephyr is a good choice.  The Kato decoders support Digitrax Transponding too.

Also, no need to post the Loco1hobby invoice in future .... looks like you're getting a better deal than me ... ;)

Only because you have to pay tax champ ;)

Got my Micro Ace Kiha 47 Ibusuki no Tamatebako (2-Car Set) yesterday.  It's missing a lens for the red tail lights on the motor car.  Have shot HS a email.  Hopefully they can help.

Anyone else had warrenty issues?  Problems with international sales?

So the wife has located the missing part on the kitchen floor.

Explaination...

When the train arrived and I unpacked it.  The motor car had the bogies pushed up into the shell so far that only half the wheels could be seen under the shell.  So I pulled the shell off and a little black part that is the drivers cab fell out of the shell.  No big deal I thought, so I put it back were it belonged.

So went to run it and the tail lights didn't work on the motor car.  Pulled apart thinking that something must be broken since the underbody parts were pushed too far up into the shell.  All looked good and all the LEDs worked.  So pull apart the trail car and noticed the clear lense was missing.

Not much I could do about it except email the retailer that sold me the train.  And 15 minutes later the wife finds it on the floor.  How she noticed a 9mm clear plastic part on white tiles is beyond me.  So this part much have fallen out when the black part fell out of the shell also.  But I didn't notice it at the time.  the missing part was located 4 meters away and 12 hours after dissassembly.

The lens goes through both the drivers cab black part and the shell holding it all in place together.  So when the underbody was pushed up into the shell too far, it must have dislodged the lens, and the rest of the story you know.

Thanks for reading my bable.  Continue modelling. :)

Not long ago i've received a kato unit in the same condition, with the motor pushed up through the roof, the bogies loose. I've reassembled it a few times but it still runs with a grinding noise. This is probably due to the poor quality of the set.

Aloha - it has been awhile, let my train addiction cool off for a few months...   But I couldn't resist some newly released American Iron by Kato: a pair of EMD E8A locomotives and set of smoothside passenger cars in Alaska Rail livery.

Also the first run for a Kato 885 "Around the Kyushu" set I picked up in 2013.  Both very smooth runners.

It was a rainy day and I decided to put together a pair of folding tables plus the dining room table to make enough room for my Kato V11 track set - it's madien run.  Been using Bachman track for my testing until today, Kato Unitrack - WOW!

I have two more Shinkansen sets to photograph and post tomorrow.

Both of these Shinkansen were added to my roster in 2013, but their inaugural runs were today on a Kato V11.

They are great runners.  They appear to have slightly different close coupling designs, and both work quite well, but the system on the N700A has a slight edge.

Kato 10-354 100 "Grand Hikari" and Kato 10-1175 N700A "Nozomi"

4 airhorns (1x2 mm) for a British Class 73 locomotive. They are white plastic, but the horns should be black, so i'll have to paint them.

My recent delivery from ModelTrainPlus:

Let me gues Sinus... The wheel bogies for your 500 series to convert them to be able to receive interior lighting? Nice! I've got mine too but I don't have the interior lights (am waiting for the illumi to be re-released) to test them out...

Is that two packets of yummy biscuits I see there? Interesting!!

just won on yahoo auction:  MicroAce Odakyu 9000.

I had wanted to buy the 8-car set because it has 4 cab cars and because it has the full (not single-arm) panto that is more appropriate for the 9000.  However, i ran into a 6-car set on auctions at a very good price (about half of the 8-car set price - i paid JPY 7700), so figured this was good enough.

A nice "runs alongside of romancecars" model.

What MicroAce really should do, however, is the Odakyu 1000.  This is an obvious hole in their lineup and one with two major liveries (and quite a few sub-liveries)

Nice! The 9000 is an all time favourite of mine, since it serves good memories of my first time visit to Japan. Its weird front design is very appealing and still has that old Odakyu flair. The 1000 is also a favourite, since the motor sound is incredibly loud when accelerating. And you're right MA should make one. The GM kit version is just not good enough to justify itself. However, I also think a 4000 would be a smashing hit.
