miyakoji
In my first installation of Miyakoji's Bus Corner (http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/6531-miyakojis-bus-corner), we saw videos by puku0987 and keiseibusN126 in the greater Kanto area. Below we've got some videos by yscorp1974, who seems to be in the Kansai area. Kyoto Bus - Route 36, express. Demachiyanagi Station to Kamigamo-bashi. The very nice northern part of the city. Not far away from the destination is this shrine: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamigamo_Shrine Nara Kotsu - Yagi-Shingu Route Long video of a route that winds through some valleys in the Kii peninsula. A few nice little onsen hamlets. Osaka Municipal Bus - Route 86, Kintetsu Fuse to Hankyu Kami-Shinjō Notice the flashing traffic signals. Just a few weeks ago we were discussing railway signals that did this. I'm going back to my guess that it's an interaction between the light and the camera and that they don't flash ! Look at the green (blue!?) signal around 1:50, and a red signal around 3:55. But, others don't seem to do this, and they're less bright overall. Maybe older, conventional light bulbs versus LEDs? Shikoku! Some very narrow roads in very rural Tokushima prefecture. Edited August 16, 2013 by miyakoji 4 Link to comment
JR 500系
Magnificant! Thanks for the videos Miyakoji san! Subscribled on youtube. I like these videos, especially so when you can view the roads in the city, all on the comfort of your computer screen! Esp. love the Osaka video, as the driver is really nice to say 'Hassha shimasu' or 'moving off' to warn commuters of the bus moving off and there might be a jerk so be careful, or hold on tight. Very polite and nice of him to do that! The buses in our sillypore jam brakes and accelerator like no tomorrow so bouncing back and forth is quite a norm... Can i 'hijack' your thread miyakoji san? I love 'Toei Bus', perhaps because they're base in Tokyo... and here's some videos of Toei buses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atV6AfAfm94 The last video connects Otsuka station to Ikebukuro station.. both on the Yamanote line so pretty interesting! Ochanomizu
Perhaps a new forum on Platform 2 is needed. Link to comment
miyakoji
Perhaps a new forum on Platform 2 is needed. I think I'd like a bus forum. But then, I'd feel like I need to post more bus videos . Link to comment
3railgreg
I too would like to see a bus forum! Thanks Miyakoji for the videos, it gives me a great street level view of city driving in Japan. I can now start putting my signs up on streets in the correct places! (Having never been to Japan, this helps a lot!) :) Link to comment
JR 500系
I think I'd like a bus forum. But then, I'd feel like I need to post more bus videos . Tripled that! Would be great to have a designated platform just for Japanese buses... Now there's plently of threads around in the forum about buses, like Miyakoji san's bus corner 2 volumes, tomytec moving bus system, my bus front view camera video thread, my anything bus related thread and many more etc perhaps lost somewhere in the forum... Wishing our voices can be heard? Till then let's just share more here and there? Japanese buses are great! Link to comment
Mudkip Orange
I'm diggin' that riverside Kyoto run. Wonder how often it runs? Link to comment
miyakoji
I was wrong about the route 36 being a Kyoto Municipal bus, it's run by Kyoto Bus which is private. It looks like the run is to provide service to Kyoto Sangyo University, and is suspended when class is not in session, although it's not running for the first half of September, which I don't understand. Here's the current schedule: http://www.kyotobus.jp/rosen/sandai_schedule_36~38.pdf The A schedule that's referred to can be seen at the bottom of this pdf: http://www.kyotobus.jp/route/timetable/pdf/demachiyanagiekimae_01.pdf Several departures from Demachiyanagi during the 8AM and 9AM hours, then it decreases and there are no departures from 2PM on.
