disturbman
Well, that is the cheapest it will ever be. Once it goes on the second hand market, price will climb 😉 GM is also making the Kintetsu Osaka Expo-wrapped trains. https://ngauge.jp/gm202506_info/ 1 Link to comment

Looks great, but ¥48,180 for a 6-car set is a really tough pill to swallow. Link to comment
cteno4
Normally I'm pre-hyped for wrapped trains, especially for something like expo, but I’m pretty underwhelmed by the wrapping design and at that price tag not inclined go jump on it. Luckily I have many wrapped trains with more stunning designs on them… wish they could have done something a bit more intriguing than just some bright color splotches and the little mutant mascot [im sure there is an interesting back story to the chap, but multi eyed blob headed creature seems a bit odd choice with recent issues with Fukushima releases] kind of mutes something as diverse as an expo. It almost feels like there was a decision making problem and something very generic was then just done as most wrapped trains in japan have a lot of creativity, thought, and design in them. Maybe too many fingers in the soup with an expo. But alas expos are not the spectacle they once were. One of my favorite exhibit jobs was the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, that was stunning. jeff Link to comment

cteno4
Lol, not sure if it’s warranted rich! Yes it was for the Early California Pioneers Society in San Francisco, up for about 8 years until they changed buildings. Exhibit/multimedia/education design was my profession for 3+ decades after i got out of science [although a lot of the exhibit stuff was science education as well]. I think the PPIE was the most fun of all the exhibits as it was just so astounding what they built for the exposition. Most all was then torn down shortly after it closed! Just wild. It was so hard in a small exhibit to show the extent of the buildings, displays, art, gardens, etc they did physically i did an computer interactive to try to provide a lot of pictures of all these things for folks to dig deeper on something that caught their interest in the exhibit and as i started diving into all the pictures with the curator i ended up pulling over a thousand images into the program. Was a great hit and folks would stand there for a half an hour and more looking at all the photos—really sucked folks in! jeff 2 Link to comment
