It looks really nice by the way! Glad I got it!

I have contacted Naraachi-san to see if he is still getting it for me.  I'd hate to wait all this time and miss it out on it. haha

 

Depending on quality, I might try for the A6075 also if stocks can be found.

The window shapes and graphics really reminded me of those civilizations - or perhaps just how they're depicted in more modern times.

Sorted out my Isaburo-Shinpei with Nariichi-san.  So I will await it to arrive.  If all good, my old 2 car set will hit the market.

 

I was thinking of getting the Isaburo, but if yours is going to hit the market... then perhaps...  :)

30k for a 6 car set... Even though it's "Made in China", unlike Kato and Tomix.

I will never understand MicroAce.

A fair amount of Tomix is Chinese made.  But they seems to make it work is reasonable prices.  MA has 2 models I pre-ordered.  I guess others are buying at their high prices, otherwise MA just wouldn't do it.

Recently there has been some talk about MA quality control issues.  I recently got my Kiha 140+47 Isaburo-Shinpei 3 car set.  I can announce I'm very happy with the quality of this set.  I cannot fault is in any way.  Even the new packaging system is good.  Only one train to report on.  But have more coming.

That's good to hear as the few MA trains I have are great and been wary of the chatter in regards to quality control issues.  I just might have to go and get the Isaburo-Shinpei 3 Car Set while it's still available.

Me too. With only one recent MA train to report on, the Misuzu-Shiosai, the quality is top notch and can be comparable to Tomix or Kato. The new packing is wonderful and certainly a big plus from their older, somewhat cheaper, packing for 2 car sets..

Got any from the past 12 months Jeff?  Models from before their factory issues ie 1-10 years ago is irrelevant.

yes a couple. older models are not irrelevant as those are the ones to compare against. granted my sample size is small on the new ones, but they are equivalent to the older ones i have.

I have a few recent MA releases like the tokyu metro 08 hanzoumon line.   Nice, but it's no Kato.  Still the same cheap shite waxy plastic, lack of TN couplers, and general not as sharp / quality construction.  Don't get me wrong - still nice models, but let's not fool ourselves - every recent *Japanese* Kato release that I have seen has been superb (except for the chuo SuHa32 set which was average/below average qualitywise) has been outstanding.
