Still only the MA Tokyo Metro 08 for me, and, given the high price tag I'll have to have a good think about it.  It's also particularly annoying since I've noticed that a lot of the recent MA releases somehow show up for about half the price on secondary markets, still new, a bit after release.

I must say these are really some of the nicest sets out there! they are gorgeous and deserve being on display in a cool winter scene diorama instead of sitting in their boxes like they do most of the time! i hesitated when i first saw them years ago because the price was not cheap (but reasonable for what you get) but so glad i popped for them. if you like mow or plows these are a must have! powered power blades is also very fun!

 

next show i should take over a shinkansen yard track and put these out with their locos and maybe a whole string of all the snow plows for display!

When I saw this announcement some time ago, my perspective on MA didn't improve at all. The Nankai 10000 Series is done by Greenmax (a rerun just last year in June), and the Toyohashi 1800 and Ueda Dentetsu 7200 by Tomytec... Granted, the latter don't have functional front lights, nor the option for interior lighting, but come on... :/

 

The HOT7000 Series will definitely sell though.

Agreed... But isn't the HOT7000 series released much earlier on? This also seemed to be the connection portion type of cars, which is the one without the sloped front car?

Aren't all the old pre-releases from before March 2015 all like this?  I gave up on my 3 car Isaburo-Shinpei long ago.  Lucky I got the 2 car version for 8000 yen with lights before the prices sky-rocketed.

It's fine actually. I just spotted the chance on that Shirakami when pre-orders on all other suppliers have closed and HS was still taking so I reckon might as well...

 

 

Anyone has some pictures or videos on the Kiha-33 GeGeGe no Kitaro train? I tried to goggle and youtube but could only find the Kiha-40s... Hope to see some pictures before deciding whether or not to get this... The picture on the MA poster is way too small...

Maybe on the Isaburo-Shinpei.  But they have release another kiha 40 set in the past 6 months.  If they did cancel it.  Then my 2 car Isaburo-Shinpei set seems like a good buy and doubles in value overnight. haha

 

The HB-E300s are a funny on though.  Pre orders started mid 2012.  So after 3.75 years.  They finally pulled the pin on it. You'd think they could have come to the conclusion a lot earlier.  haha  Kato has picked up the pieces though.

 

I think I typed a post earlier the MA should come clean about what they can and cannot release in the future.  If pre March 2015 stuff cannot be done.  Just say so and move on.  Easy.

I think they might still want to release the remaining trains, but if another maunfacturer comes with the same train and a lower price, there is no point in it. So imho further cancellations might happen with the announcement of new products from others. If nobody releases a certain train (or a different paint of the same model), then it might happen that a set stays up in the air for years.

I see it as they revoked it because of Kato releasing the model, Kato will have more detailing and be a lot better price than MA....MA is way too high, yes they release uncommon items but their prices are almost like brass item prices in N scale....but the quality is decent...

I nearly pooped myself when I saw the Kiha 72 5 car set.  The older A7890 4 car set sells for around 20,000 used.  So this new set is a bargain, if you look at it that way. haha.  It will be around 19,000 from AmiAmi.
