Not only that, but also two Keikyū 1000s (old cooler versions just announced by Tomytec) and 2100s (just announced by Kato). Next to that, a ridiculously priced Gakunan 5000 and a Tōbu 9000 series... I'm not sure if this is bad strategy or just MicroAce not caring at all about the competition. I'd say the Keikyū 2100s are a very bad shot.

Yessssssss! Wonder how many will get produced! At least I did not ever succumb to paying a fortune for one! The one train I've regretted not buying for years! Yen was high and train funds low then and expensive train and I though eh! Mistake...

Yes... I do believe better to grab them fast before MA decides to stop taking in orders for fear of not being able to fulfil all of them!

They are available at HS, MTP and loco1 at the moment... Grab them now or regret never grabbing this chance!

Wait is good ~ Suddenly I feel wait is so good when it pays off... Just like the E655 Nagomi ~~

Yup. Interested very much. Too bad about the hefty price and too bad these are models from after 1993 (I'd prefer the ones without the blue striping) It's really a shame to have these nice models priced so high as well. Maybe after a decade, MA will release the original (Nissha and Tōkyū) 6-car versions as well (if MA would still exist that is).

The Shibayama 3600 (3618 formation) was leased from Keisei from October 2002 to April 2013 and was repainted to the original Keisei livery in December of that same year.

As an HO scale modeller I have a different view of MicroAce to most of you. I have a small fleet of their Kiha40 and Kiha52 railcars, as well as some of their Series 183 EMUs. They're models I'm very happy with in every respect - appearance, performance and price.

And I'm shortly going to receive a pair of their newly released ED60/61s that I bought from forum member Keitaro's online shop. He's had a good look at them and he tells me they're very nice models indeed. So I'm keen to get my hands on them and give them a run.

Cheers,

Mark.

Cool... Good news for the wallet! At least nothing much of interest comes from MA, especially when Green Max has just released news of their large bulk of interesting train sets to get ~~

15000 yen for a 2-car set??

It's MicroAce or Arnold/Fleischmann??

It seems they've taken the european price train... lets hope at least they dont take the european quality train too....

Was looking at the Kiha 31s.  I noticed something different...

Can you see something majorly different between the two?  p.s. Not referring to colours etc.

The top version will feature front skirts and a cross-seat interior. The bottom one won't have front skirts and a longitudinal seat formation. Underbody parts will be coloured differently (sorry had to say it), and car numbers will be different as well. The Arnold Rapido couplers also seem to have different mountings. This probably has something to do with the front skirt placement on the top version.

This is not such weird practice, since we can see this all the time with Greenmax releases. A recent example being the Odakyū 3000 and 1000 Series, as well as the countless varieties of Meitetsu trains.

All info that can be found in the item description has been striked through.

Yes it was the coupler systems that interested me.  Seeing the skirt version have a high mounted rapido coupler has me wanting the coupler mech for my Kida 125s.  It doesn't seem to impose much on the space below it, which is good for 16m/17m cars with limited space.

All my Micro Ace Kihas have the bogie mounted rapido couplers and the skirts have had to be reduced to make it work.  First time I've seen an option that prevents the manufacturer cutting up the skirts.

Wait, the top one has NEM standard coupler mounts? For me, this is something new from a japanese manufacturer. It would mean the motor could be used with close coupler drawbars or could be replaced with the coupler of any other european manufacturer, including power conducting ones. (it means all wheel pickup and/or using a single decoder for a whole set is possible)

MA are down to 35 items still up for release.  Pretty good considering they have been adding items monthly also.  Was up in the mid 60s at one stage.

They Just released a Kiha 40/Kiha 48 3 car set this week.  So maybe the other Kihas are too far away.

Yap.. saw on HS quite a large number of MA sets are out... And Kihas too... Let's hope so since I have the Kiha47 Misuzu-Shiosai on pre-order for more than 1.5 years coming to 2.... My longest wait for a pre-order yet...

Speaking on which, I got really lucky to get hold of this baby today! Lucky!
