MicroAce - New Releases

So that means the Keihan 800 will not be bought. ;)

Never say never! It's just that I'm in a financial gap at the moment. Maybe when the Keihan 800 is released, I'm swimming in cash again. xD I wonder how it looks next to Enoden trains...

I keep checking their release forecast in the hope more models are starting to move. Still dissappointing to see so many models sitting in limbo on that list.

Yap, that's still quite a fair bit of trains sitting on the MA schedule that has yet to be released, like:

1) A7570/ 71 Okakyu Rommance Car Type 60000 MSE (Basic 6-Car Set) and Add on set - Pre-order start date: Nov 14 2013

2) A0723 Kiha 47-0 Renewal Metropolitan Area Color (2-Car Set) - Pre-order start date Dec 10 2013

3) A7792 Kiha 40-2000 Oga Line (2-Car Set) - Pre-order start date Dec 10 2013

4) A4910 Series 701-0 Akita Color Single Arm Pantograph/Strengthening skirt (3-Car Set) - Pre-order start date Dec 10 2013

5) A4960 Series 701-5000 Tazawako Line (2-Car Set) - Pre-order start date Dec 10 2013

6) A6074 Kiha 140+47 [isaburo/Shinpei] (3-Car Set) - Pre-order start date Jan 17 2014

7) A6075 Kiha 47-2000 [Misuzu Shiosai] (2-Car Set) - Pre-order start date Jan 17 2014

8) A6150 DD53-1 Time of debut [Higashi Nigata]  - Pre-order start date Jan 17 2014

And many more. (Sorry unable to post all, but there are several more.) Information from HS site.

Just trying to compile the list of un-released train sets from MA, some pre-order started last year Dec. Kinda long eh?

every day i light a candle before the shrine of keio 8000/9000.  Of theothers, the 701 akita would be nice, but if i recall the pricing is extortionate.

Only a few more for MA to work off the list:- haha

I think they mainly keep announcing new models to show the customers that they're still alive. That they only announce just 1-2 models per month instead of 6 or something is a sign of that.

Yes I think you are right. They clearly have slowed production. And are adding 2 new a month and catching up on the rest.

MicroAce has announced four new models again. Release date unknown. Still very interesting as always:

- Two variations on the Ooedo Subway line 12-000 types (1st and 3rd versions).

- Yokohama City Subway Blue Line 3000A and 3000N types.

The choice for the Ooedo line trains is a bit weird as this line doesn't surface, except when going to the Magome depot. Next to that, all platforms have automated doors, so almost no chance to see the trains in their full glory.

The Yokohama Subway trains is less daring as they surface, travel on the longest subway line of Japan and is a very heavily used one as well.

I wonder when MA will actually start releasing models again... ( ̄▽ ̄; )

A bit off topic here, but could someone explain me the logic behind the Oedo line traffic? Wouldn't it be more logical and better for the travellers that for trains coming from the tail (from Hikarigaoka) to direct them alternating between left and right at Tochomae? This way odd trains would circle the loop clockwise, while even ones anticlockwise. Half the loop could be reached faster without a transfer. Or this is the same logic as using linear motors, standard gauge and ovearhead current collection on a fully underground line. (essentially making the trains incompatible with everything else around them) I don't really understand MA either, these trains could not convincingly be mixed with anything else, so i can't really imagine selling well or at all. (except to collectors, who collect Toei subway trains)

edit: Just checked, the platform height for the Oedo line trains seems to be much lower than on normal lines, so they can't be used with normal high platforms. Does MA sell or plans to sell special platforms for these trains?

I just received an email from HS stating that the release date for the Okakyu Romance Car Type 60000 MSE (Basic 6-Car Set) and the Okakyu Romance Car Type 60000 MSE (Add-On 4-Car Set) has now been set to Oct (didn't state which year :)). That's good news seeing as it will have been nearly a year since the reservation started.

It would require doubling the frequency of trains along the "tail", which is not going to be economical, and would complicate operations. The transfer at Tochomae is hardly onerous - it's cross platform and the trains usually depart/arrive together to mimise waiting time.

hello,

yes microace has sorted out their issues however due to new arrangements there will be delays to all promised models hence the new models only a few opposed to their usual 8 - 10 models or more per month.

i think the majority of all pending models will start from october

such as odakyu and the 0 - 1000 shinkansen and onwards

more details will be given in September.

MicroAce had the Toei Oedo line trains (both) and a Yokohama City Subway (3000A) on display today at the JAM, next to already released prototype show models. They looked pretty swank. It's good they are full subway models without any through-running operations, otherwise I would be very much inclined to get one of 'em later.

Glad to hear that MicroAce is back in swing. Maybe finally I'll get those Keio models :). As a tokyo subway collector, I'm not sure if the Oedo line release does much for me, though it's certainly in my collecting periphery. Here's my "wish list" for Tokyo subways: #1. Eidan Hanzoumon 8000. Who will get there first? MA or Kato? #2. Toei shinjuku 10-000. I have the endou version, but would love a MicroAce version. When will MicroAce smell the coffee and realize that everything that they've released that runs on the keio mainline has pretty much sold out instantly? #3. Ginza line legacy trains - anything that ran before the 01 series and not from tetsudou collection. #4. Hanzoumon 08 series. Just a gorgeous design.

MicroAce just announced a rake of tankers and two versions of the Nankai 2000 series: http://www.jp-ngauge.info/ngi/2014/09/micro-ace20152-3ca7.html

The Nankai 2000 is marketed as a 17m body vehicle, but it's closer to 18m long train in actual size. I'll be keeping an eye on this one, since Nankai 'zoom car' trains are quite interesting. Short and powerful :3

Also, thei Keio 9000 type trains will be released next week.
