  1. The publisher Sonic Powered made a series of six railway simulator games for the 3DS, each featuring a different line: http://www.sonicpowered.co.jp/train/ . They have announced the Eiden edition will be released in Japan for the Switch: https://japanesenintendo.com/2019/09/13/japanese-rail-sim-journey-to-kyoto-coming-to-switch/ . Unlike the 3DS, the Switch does not have region coding, so although the game will be in Japanese, you could play the physical version (as opposed to purchasing digitally) it on a Switch purchased anywhere. Also, they later released English language versions of the Eiden and Okinawa Monorail versions, maybe this will get the same treatment.
  2. qwertyaardvark's post about Train Sim 2014 reminded me of this: http://www.sonicpowered.co.jp/train/ . Pure coincidence I noticed it a few nights ago, and it came out yesterday (Sept 26). Looks pretty good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1c65sNhspag
  3. There's an edition of A-Train for the 3DS, it came out about 2 months ago. As far as I know, this is a simulator where you build a railroad, not drive a train. main site: http://www.artdink.co.jp/japanese/title/a3d/ videos: http://www.artdink.co.jp/japanese/title/a3d/gallery/01.html

    go/igo (the game)

I had some students who liked this game, sometimes I'd play against them and I'd always lose. I found this English information, I wish I'd seen this 8 years ago . http://senseis.xmp.net/ If you're completely unfamiliar with the game, here's the background: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_(game)
