    Which C11?

There are a number of C11 locos available now, and while I keep telling myself I don't need another steamer, a C11 seems essential. But which one: Tomix, Kato, or one of the Tramway models? Any and all opinions please.

    C11 leading axle derailment

Hello, I need some help with my C11 (Kato 2002). It is a very smooth running locomotive but I have problems with the leading axle as it often derails on my turnouts. I use Arnold turnouts which aren't the finest but I would still like to run the C11 until I switch to a better track system. I have already widened the leading axle and it got a little bit better but not much. Any help will be appreciated!
  3. One of my youtube subscribers enquired if i was planning on doing anymore video reviews after watching my recent DD51 production. As it happened I was but had been busy for the last few months developing my British stock for Republic steel. Now I have got over the recent flurry of exhibitions I've got a bit more time to do things. I've had the Rokuhan C11 for a while now and it is a lovely little model seen here on Republic on a mixed freight passing a couple of D51s Video at Next up should be a review of the Tenshodo D51 2-8-2s in their various forms and the Rokuhan DE10 cheers Kev

  5. JR Hokkaido will be loaning their C11 207 steam locomotive to Tobu Railway, which intends to run a tourist-oriented train on the Kinugawa Line. The service is planned to start in the FY 2017 season, running between Shimo Imaichi and Kinugawa Onsen Stations, a distance of 12.4km. This will be the first time in around 50 years that Tobu will run steam services. http://www.travelvision.jp/news-jpn/detail.php?id=68640
  6. Color film of railway snow clearing operations, mainly on the Japan Sea side of the nation. Includes experimentation with a jet engine to melt snow. Last scene with a C11 pulling a mixed train is a gem, note the track worker at the end using a track gauge.
  7. Steam and snow. Some fine video released today by Kyodo News. http://www.47news.jp/movie/general_national/post_10356/ A lovely sight ... and fun to see passengers grilling squid on the daruma stove.
