I got 5 boxes of exactly those on YAJ for reasonable pricings of around 2000-2500¥ over the last two weeks.

Just search for Kato 8040 (all categories) or Mitsubishi (N Scale Freight Trains). On Aleado‘s translation of YAJ there also is an option to search the description of the article for search terms, that might also help.

Kato’s double catenary poles are really nice. Silvery finish (except on the counterweights, which should be painted) and fine detail.

Really I’m sort of embarrassed to put the Greenmax single track poles on the same layout.

Yes these “Ramen” catenary poles are very nice. Quite delicate for temporary set ups when you try and remove them from the holders but they do look the business. I wish they’d make some single track versions too.

The masts are quite detailed and look really good but you need to tone them down with a blackish brownish wash to give them a more realistic lives in the wild look, the weights on the tensioning masts normally tend to be quite dull and at time are made from concrete.

I could swear that they do. I'm almost certain that I have some.

They made them for the curved bridge set 20-823  based on the Iida Lines Misakubo #6 bridge, they were also made as an add on pack 23-058 if you wanted to expand that set.

My Shinpei turned up today with the Shimonoseki depot DD51 to run with the SL Yamaguchi 35系 coaches. 58F5E272-0D6E-4327-A6AC-CADB3F8AC0A8.thumb.jpeg.2dc8a458a4b040f2f5bf910d9d117d97.jpeg

The Shinpei is a nice model which I’ve been wanting for some time, especially with this on my wall.

I found a few dollars in my PayPal account that I had forgot about, so I picked up a Microace A6672 & A6673 Tobu 9000-Series Renewal base and add-on set off of the old eBay.

THEN, right after I bought them, I remembered that money was supposed to go towards a new phone! Preferably one that I can actually post pictures directly onto this site, since any pictures I take are low quality and almost 4mb in size... 😔

Engaging lateral shopping shift today.

I've been piling up small auction items at ZenMarket for the past month.  As soon as the last few arrive, I'll have the lot shipped.

Started placing sniper bids today for other small items through Buyee.  They're waiving the YAJ fee for the month of March.  I had used them in January when they ran the same promotion; but made the tactical error of also adding some Amazon marketplace items which came in typical over-sized Amazon boxes, and they completely bulked up the cheap package consolidation, grr.  Just sticking to small items this time so I can do a better comparison with ZenMarket for the total fee and shipping charges once all is done.

Where did you get that poster from?

I bought it in Tokyu Hands in Hakata station. There’s a little railway stuff department on the ground floor. They sell a range of posters from Eiji Mitooka who is an industrial designer that has been a design consultant for JR Kyushu for a while. He is responsible for the designs of a lot of Kyushu trains, most famously the 7 stars around Kyushu. The posters mainly cover excursion trains as well as the Kyushu express trains.

IIRC they do 4 or 5 different sizes frames or unframed.

My parents were quite taken with some of them so they have an 800系 and a 885 Kamome on their wall in the UK.

If you have a look at

JR 九州水戸岡 鋭治イラスト

(JR Kyushu Mitooka Eiji Illustrations)

on an image search, you can see some of the nice illustration work he’s done.

I'd have to check what I have downstairs to be certain, but I think what I did was to just use the 23-058 poles with the catenary base set 23-056. I definitely have a bunch of extra bridge pieces (or whatever they are) from the 23-056 pack. I'd forgotten where I got them.

So basically 23-058 + 23-056 = Single track frame style catenary poles.

Please correct me if my math is wrong.

I'll have to do the calculations but I dare say you could be correct, the bottom sections on 23-058 are basically to bring them up to near track level from the piers, using the mast bases from 23-056 should hopefully do the trick.

Model Icon are releasing a kit of the SEMU 1 4 wheel hopper which was used in the Kyushu coal field. Four wagons in the kit with two wooden and two metal bodies. Wheels are not provided.

These pre date the MA SERA 1 type so will offer a different look to a consistent.

Two packs ordered plus a numbering sheet.

Good news for Kyushu steam fans.

Thank you! I am particularly interested in the No.7022. It was refurbished as "Retro Tram" in 2014 with special livery and wooden interior. I love it!

Another much larger group of items purchased from nah00 arrived on the 4th. I love the Tomix container cars. I have been trying to get some for a very long time!

Hmm, Yamato containers. ❤️

I wish somebody would make delivery trucks or vans in their livery.

Here we go, sorry I wasn't able to get anymore as I had to catch the Wide Vie Hida and only had a limited amount of time to get more shots of the trams, I had been able to get some a couple of days before as we transited through Toyama after going to Shirakawa go from Kanazawa.

On the ground floor, the one filled with suitcases and handbags? Never noticed anything else I'll have to double check next time I'm there!
