Suica
Sanin controllers can be bought via Nanyō Bussan. These aren't on Mr. Satō's website, but he has them either in stock and/or sells them. You can send him an email via: harimao@r8.dion.ne.jp for inquiries about the controller. Since I'm going, is it possible to find these in a store around Tokyo? Link to comment

NXCALE
Just an atypical testing video of the N-DU202-CL controller. Cheers, Edited December 18, 2016 by nxcale 1 Link to comment
medusa
Hm the Tomix cab-style controller. Since it's not that cheap it inspired me to build my own cab-style controller but in a pure analog manner. Any analog driving purists other than me here? In the electronics subforum I found only DCC related posts. If there is interest I could described how I did it. 3 Link to comment
splifdfx
Medusa, I'd be interested for sure. Link to comment

ToniBabelony
Oh yes please! I'm about to embark on a electronic circuit adventure again, so I'm interested in almost all model train related electronics! Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
There's quite a few DCC posts, but I think the majority of the forum drives analog :) Link to comment
cteno4
Yes, I'm still a analog purest! I have too many trains now to think about a huge conversion in the foreseeable future! I see the merits of dcc, but not anywhere near enough to drive me to the time and money for the fleet conversion and dual is a pain on both sides... Still lots of fun to be had with analog! JR 500系
I love that driving controller! It is as close as the real thing we can get off the shelves~~ And remains one of my favorite analog controller... it really makes you feel like you are driving the train! Add that with a screen and a train camera and you got yourself the closest thing to driving an actual train in your home ~~ what's refreshing is the amount of girls in the video.. Good to see more girls getting into the hobby~ 1 Link to comment
railsquid
I'd love to have DCC, but I have way too many Japanese trains to make it remotely viable, either financially or from a time perspective... Damn these cheap trains ;) Link to comment
NXCALE
A DC user. The variety of DC controllers (advanced or not) is one reason more to enjoy JPN Railway Models. Link to comment
cteno4
I must admit at times dcc seems like cheating! Jeff Link to comment
kvp
Yes, most of us have analog japanese trains, with some cheating like Tomix (or similar) PWM-CL analog controllers that allow some DCC like features (good motor drive and lights on while stationary) without the costy circuits required by DCC. Full power routing and cab controllers make up for not being able to have two trains in the same block. (easy to wire cab control is also a japanese analog feature not found elsewhere) Link to comment
IST
DC user here also. For Japanese trains. And I use a controller from the Densha De Go series which was modified for model trains by kvp, so I have different levers for acceleration and braking. My British trains are DCC. Link to comment
medusa
Ok, I did it... see it here: http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/12314-analog-cab-style-controller/ 1 Link to comment
Khaul
Quick, probably a bit silly, questions: -does the N-1001-CL work at 240V? How about the N-DU101-CL? If I get a Tomix controller, is there a way to plug the Kato turnout switches to it? Link to comment
sandiway
Quick, probably a bit silly, questions: -does the N-1001-CL work at 240V? Yes it does. It comes with a separate power brick that is 100-240V 50-60Hz. 1 Link to comment
Khaul
That's very good to know, thanks. Link to comment
katoftw
Both Kato and Tomix have adaptors to allow you to plug their switches into a 3rd party power source. 1 Link to comment
Khaul
Very good, thanks everyone. Actually I plan to keep using my Kato controller for the freight branches anyway so I can hook up the switches to it. I will use the Tomix controller for the main line so I can get constant illumination for the passenger trains. Link to comment
locidm
I'm also planning to get a Tomix controller. Does the CL feature work with Kato trains? Link to comment
