Kato N700 motor

need a motor for the kato n700 (10-547) motor car, any advice?

You can usually order parts like this thru kato USA if you have the instruction sheet. They want you to fax them the part sheet with the part you want circled. Can take 1-3 months to get it from Japan then like $8 for shipping to you and retail part price. At times kato USA can be a little cranky about ordering kato Japan parts.

 

Also might check with modeltrainplus or loco1hobby about getting the part as well.

Kato uses the same motor in just about all of their models, Japanese and American prototype.  The only difference being the flywheels.  I you can remove / re-install the flywheels, you should be able to use a motor meant for any Kato model for the N700.
