whats the difference with dcc and non dcc

Im new to train modelling and i keep on seeing and hearing about this dcc thingy but i have no idea what is it. So, my question is, what is dcc and whats the difference with dcc and non dcc. Thanks.

For most people, the most important bit is that DCC allows you to control each train separately, allowing you to run multiple trains independently from each other on the same track without using things like blocks.

Thanks so much. Oh and another question, is there a kato or tomix controller that can control more that one train. Im in japan now doing lots of train shopping. I cant find a controller that has that function.

no.  you need dcc controllers to do that.

so for me, getting 2 kato power packs and using them normal dc style in the early stages of modelling.  then later on those packs can be used as a second and third throttle for said dcc controller.

 

lots of options though.  above is one of many that you could pick.
