ToniBabelony
Me too! though I wonder about the price... at the rate Tomytec is going... and we have to factor in motor chassis, wheel chassis set and pantograph spares to add on... It's too bad about the price indeed. For a fully upgraded model, you might even just shell out a bit more for an RTR model from Greenmax... I'll probably just leave it be. Link to comment
Suica
Just noticed that the Marine Liner (and E235 and Shikoku KiHa 181) isn't High Grade, which means having to get TN couplers separately as well. I really don't like these prices for what you get... Has the price of the E235 been announced already? Link to comment

Gordon Werner
TomyTec announcement: Keihan Otsu line 700 series new colors 700 series old colors DGwBBrFVwAAf7tF.jpg-large.jpg 2 German Trams https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGv-jCCVwAAwdVN.jpg Edited August 9, 2017 by Gordon Werner 3 Link to comment
Densha
Even though I kinda stopped collecting Keihan trains a while ago, completing my collection with the 700 in old livery is still tempting... And very good to see the Tetsudou Collection finally going abroad! Tomytec can reuse the LRT04 power unit because the Fukui F1000s were basically based on these Adtranz trams. Hopefully we'll also see Siemens Avenio trams in the future from Tomytec considering that they also have this bogie layout. 1 Link to comment
Gordon Werner
also this one of the Osaka Municipal Subway that I haven't been able to translate yet https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGwBeYrU0AATbTt.jpg and JR 103-3000 series (non (pre?) air-conditioning version) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGwYuF1UQAAA_yi.jpg and a bunch more buses http://www.jp-ngauge.info/photos/uncategorized/2017/08/09/001004.jpg http://www.jp-ngauge.info/photos/uncategorized/2017/08/09/001005.jpg http://www.jp-ngauge.info/photos/uncategorized/2017/08/09/001006.jpg Edited August 9, 2017 by Gordon Werner Link to comment
kvp
I would assume these are meant to complement the already released european articulated buses. Imho it's a good idea and there is a market for it. The 2 bogies and 3 section jackobs articulated units are already in use by multiple european manufacturers to power their shells. Link to comment

railsquid
Wow, that is a surprise with the German trams! I actually bought one of the Fukurams as I thought it would make a candidate for respraying into BVG yellow (one day when I have time for such fun). The announcement says they'll be selling these in Europe, and the tone sounds like it might not be a one-off. Now, how about some Tatras? Edited August 9, 2017 by railsquid Link to comment

Densha
2 German Trams https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGv-jCCVwAAwdVN.jpg I took another look at these, and the small map of Germany actually also clearly shows Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Bonn and Frankfurt on the map. Maybe this is a sign that we'll see trams from these cities as well?! Although it can also be just for decoration. Link to comment

Hmm, although I would love some Stadtbahn and Tram cars from Bonn, I think it's probably just for orientation, I don't think there's much demand for such :( (+ the Trams have a weird wheel arrangement which I think Tomytec doesn't have a motor kit of) From Tomix (apologies if already posted) ● JR KIHA 181 system limited express diesel car (JR Shikoku color) set → details PDF The Shikoku colors look pretty good on the KiHa 181, might have to get one... 1 Link to comment

Densha
I'm interested in the JR Shikoku KiHa 58 and KiHa 181 that are to be released in January, but Tomix is also releasing the Marine Liner in December and it's just going to be too expensive to get them all... Link to comment

I'd almost say it'd be wishful thinking, but boy, do would I like a Stadtwerke Bonn tram of any kind (lived there for five years and met my wife there). Any odd Stadtbahn B-wagen will do as well. I do sincerely hope for Tomix to do something like this, because I'm about on that point to revise my own 3D models and print those. Maybe it'd be a good idea to have a talk with a representative at the JAM for info in two weeks. :P 1 Link to comment
JR 500系
What is with the new MB* bus collection? Repeats or some form of special collection? I'm wondering too... apparently it's a 'My Machi Bus Collection'... or my city bus collection... I wonder why... will this also mean that the All Island Bus collection (JB) series will be ending soon? Nevertheless, it's my duty as a bus collector to get all the buses available, so I think i'll start to collect these also.... Although most of the bus models do clash and have already been released with the existing All Island bus collection... I'm very much excited about bus collection 23 though: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10483511 Look at that Mitsubishi Fuso Rosa model! lovely! Also, 2 new types of bus sets came up: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10483536 3 tour bus set from Toyko http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10483592 And a first, 8-tour bus set! But ouch the price.... Lastly, another Girls & Panzer bus: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10483594 Apparently it's the N scale version of the previously released HO scale version: http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/bus80/bus80_13.html Edited August 10, 2017 by JR 500系 1 Link to comment

Other than that little detail, I cannot find a difference. Link to comment
JR 500系
Actually, I don't see much difference between these new releases and the older ones except for the most obvious difference in color... basically, I think they are the same mould just different coloring... I do hope this doesn't continue to be the tread as we do hope to see newer models being released... same with the buses... it's ok to have the same mould but different coloring (or company liveries), but surely not the same moulding and same bus company coloring, like the All Island Bus collection and the new My Machi collection... They do release variants on existing buildings at regular intervals, which is useful if you want a number of similar but not identical ones. 1 Link to comment
katoftw
Pretty normal Tomix practice. Not new. The think the newest release of comtempory houses is 079-3. So the third colour change. Link to comment
