Can I install DCC on a Poppondetta Tokyo Metro 1000 Series

Pretty sure its manual soldering work, there wont be a premade one that just fits. DCC is simply not a topic in Japan, only Kato does a fraction of their trains pre-ready.

With enough work you can put DCC in almost anything.

 

I've had good luck using the bi-polar function (lighting) decoders from NGDCC https://www.snjpn.com/ngdcc/indexj.htm in the end cars of things as it is a simple solder in and it takes care of the light polarity.

 

Any small wired decoder should work.  I use mainly the european small micro ones that are not very high (and not heat shrinked) because you often don't have a lot of vertical space to stash a decoder out of the way.  You would really need to look at the motor car 0-- pop off the top -- and see how much room you have to deal with in order to get something to fit.  Electrically they should all be the same.
