BulletTrain816
Poppondetta produces some trains however due to its obscurity there is no info on how to install DCC or if there is any decoder that fits it. Here is the link: https://maker.popondetta.com/maker/?p=555 Link to comment
katoftw
These borrow a lot of parts from Tomix. I'd assume dcc-ing these would be extremely similar to Tomix/MicroAce/Greenmax. Link to comment
Wolf
Pretty sure its manual soldering work, there wont be a premade one that just fits. DCC is simply not a topic in Japan, only Kato does a fraction of their trains pre-ready. Link to comment
BulletTrain816
And what decoder would I need to use? I have soldering experience. Link to comment
Wolf
Two function decoders for the headcars, one motor decoder for the motorcar Link to comment
chadbag
With enough work you can put DCC in almost anything. I've had good luck using the bi-polar function (lighting) decoders from NGDCC https://www.snjpn.com/ngdcc/indexj.htm in the end cars of things as it is a simple solder in and it takes care of the light polarity. Any small wired decoder should work. I use mainly the european small micro ones that are not very high (and not heat shrinked) because you often don't have a lot of vertical space to stash a decoder out of the way. You would really need to look at the motor car 0-- pop off the top -- and see how much room you have to deal with in order to get something to fit. Electrically they should all be the same. 1 Link to comment
