A live steam railway in a garden that's almost as big as the house itself, and a 1:1 scale railway line (a people mover, but fair enough) on the other side of the fence.

I don't know what's more amazing - that he has a Kettenrad in Japan or that he's kept it running. We saw one running at the rally in Corowa a few years back. It's owner let us have a good look at its mechanicals. Like all German semi-tracks, they're extraordinarily complicated for what they are.

Here's a potential modelling project: a glowing illuminated truck bearing Official Words of Encouragement for the beholder to return home as soon as possible as the N501Y [*] variant is on the prowl. For added realism mount it on a Tomytec motorised bus chassis and have it run around your station (this was one of a pair circling Shibuya Station earlier).

Well the Japanese certainly have a knack for recycling things, as I was doing some study for my layout loosely based on Hozumi and Nishi Gifu I came across a house that has some pretty interesting storage space with a 20' container plonked in the yard and a WaMu 8000 up against the house.
