cteno4
Important lesson — Always feed goji! We keep ours well fed. Ikea needs some real life demos of what their stuff can do. Hey set up in a store for a weekend it would be a hit! Nice that it’s down at kid level on those tables, would just need a barricade to keep the kids back a bit. what are you using for playback of the station announcements? I just got some small speakers and a mini arduino sound board (like $2) that pays off a flash card. It can even take some simple io so I was thinking of a little sensor set up later. Little 2w amp board as well but may not be loud enough. jeff Link to comment

The cheap BT-speakers don't go to sleep mode after 10min without playback, not like more expensive speakers do. 2 Link to comment
cteno4
Nice no wires! We use one of those to make goji roar and mess with with viewers at shows. jeff 1 Link to comment
Lina_Blue
Updated my track plan to represent what I actually built ^^. I added colour to distinguish the two lines. The blue line is elevated after the 180° turn. Currently contemplating if I should make space for some parking tracks. I still have some #6 and Y- turnouts left over. 3 Link to comment

ATShinkansen
I really like this concept! Not only do the consoles work as skyscrapers, but I also find it very appropriate, considering Japan’s prominence in the video game industry. Makes me want to go dig out my consoles... Link to comment
Lina_Blue
Good News everyone! I found my Kato boxes between that oversized LGB stuff and video games 😅 And the living room was free again for my usage. OK, some scheduling took place. 😉 This time, I went in without any plan or idea. Only that the big heavy thing stays. It is too heavy to bother moving. So please, take a look: Doesn't it look great? OK, it needs some more buildings. But that is for later. 6 Link to comment
Lina_Blue
No big news for you. Only that my Console City 2020 is no more. Everything back in storage. Some re-arranging and a new flat mate after a change of government will bring some new opportunities. But I have you a picture of my central command room 7 Link to comment
Cat
Wow, now that's modular railroading!❤️ =^,^= ❤️ Edited January 29, 2020 by Cat Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
I'd panic with that many throttles... I'd see 2 trains about to smash into each other, and then randomly just smash every controller in the hopes that the trains stop (only to accidentally turn a controller to max causing a 3rd train to crash into the first 2 trains of course ...) 3 3 Link to comment
cteno4
Ugh the politics that govern our model railroading! im sure it will re-emerge soon! martijn just pull the main power plug! jeff Link to comment
Lina_Blue
New Flatmate, new Project, and lot's of single track! I'll try my hands at something completely different this time: A depot. I want to use it to rail new trains on the layout, a programming track and lot's of space to store trains currently not running. To easily switch out trains. In a next step, I may consider setting the depot on a lower level to use it as a simple fiddle yard. If everything goes by plan, I can start building next week. 5 Link to comment

Lina_Blue
The next expansion for some more driving the trains is already in the works: Tomorrow I'll figure out how to integrate it into the existing loop. May destroy the loop for a third station too. 5 Link to comment

Lina_Blue
After destrying the loop and adding an elevated station I have a nice point-to-point layout with a "small" depot to store and exchange trains with ^^. Today I put some additional decorating touches to my layout. So please have a look: 6 Link to comment
JR 500系
This is amazing work! Thanks for sharing! I like the idea of using the old game cartridges as sort of a retaining wall, and they do look like those! 1 Link to comment
Lina_Blue
Some months have gone by. And the last table layout has already been dismantled. And a new one built, and partly dismantled. This new layout also had my depot construction in it. And for my next project, it needed to move: Here it is at its old location, ready to be towed With some additional hands moving three to four tables, it wasn't that hard to move it. At its new location, ready to be connected together again: The depot then stayed a little dormant, waiting to be connected to any train line again. But after some new Shinkansen, I needed a new Highspeed Line to run them: A simple loop for DC controls has been setup to let them run. Next: Connecting the Depot again. 9 Link to comment
Tonytramman
I like that depot very much indeed Link to comment
