The museum in Saitama, which has about 860,000 annual visitors, will pass on its expertise in exhibitions and the operation of such a facility. It also plans to provide any Taiwan-related items found in its archives of about 670,000 items. The Taipei museum is scheduled to be constructed at the site of the former Taipei Railway Workshop, a railway car factory built in 1935 during the period of Japanese rule. The 18.9-hectare site contained a locomotive maintenance factory and a lathe and smithery working area. Even after World War II, the facility was used for the inspection and repair of railway cars. http://the-japan-news.com/news/article/0003461096 3 Link to comment
