I bought one of these old kato passanger coaches at my local 2nd hand shop. Was quite wondering what would be the leading train( or train set ) for this?. Was aiming for a C11 setup but I can't find any historical photos with the blue coaches. I mainly do showa era SLs. If it were electric locomotives, does EF65, and EF66 an appropriate choice?. Sure do hope if i could find some brown old coaches too, this would be much more fun, and also some mail/parcel coaches.

Came across a new supplier of laser cut cardstock kits - Baiodo. Their first offering is focused on small older style structures and a couple of detail items. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_c=104&cat=rail&target=Make&searchkey=Baiodo I like how they have done a tile roof in cardstock. https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10738551/20/7 It appears that they are done in a beige cardstock and require painting. I think I may have to order a couple and see how they go.

Loads of railway scenes we no longer can see- shonan color 80 series, long bonnet Kodama trains, SL hauled passenger trains off the Hokuriku Main Line, parcels traffic...
