keiman
Just pre-ordered the Sankei Multistorey carpark with HS. Link to comment
cteno4
My two orders arrived today from HS (well, one arrived yesterday and spent a day at the post office because I wasn't home to sign for it). One was a bunch of track for my tram layout, the last I'll need. And one was two boxes of Tomytec Car Collection Vol. 14, which I'd preordered months ago. I was really looking forward to these, as I need more modern cars for my highway and streets, and while I have others, these were typical small and relatively modern sedans, instead of minivans, or cars from the 70s, and by the box art at least, a relatively low volume of "useless" police vehicles and ambulances (I have more than I need). Well, almost. Packed away in one of my two boxes was a "mystery" set that included a Honda Today in police colors. Now I'd been thinking I'd have to paint one of my white Today's to make one of these, so this was a very happy surprise. Now I just need to find a couple of sitting policewomen figures... Ok I just got my set 14 today and I got the Honda today police car today as well! I'll offer it up to you anime fans with a charity raffle. Just donate $5 or more to the omocha express (http://www.omochaexpress.org) toy charity will get you a chance to win. Anyone interested that has already contributed can email me the name you donated under to get that to count as well. I'll keep this open until August 9, then do the drawing. I'll donate the Honda today police car and shipping to the winner! If you want to enter just do your donation thru the website or mail and PM me with the name the donation to let me know your hat is in the ring. Cheers jeff Link to comment

Martijn Meerts
Not sure.. I think the cars are a bit shorter than your average shinkansen car, so I don't think it'll be much longer than a 16 car shinkansen. That'd mean about 250 to 260cm give or take a few. Edit: According to that video it's about 9 feet, which is about 275cm .. Which means it won't fit on my planned hidden yard :) Link to comment

Now I just need to design a layout where I can run the thing =) 18??? OMG!!!! What's the length of that full train?? Depends on what you get to haul it. The full set with the GS-4 is about 8' in length; I don't have the exact measurements, suffice to say the full-length train is longer than the longest siding in our fiddle yard...which can just about hold the full-length 700 series bullet. If you have some of the diesel sets, both with A and B units, it may be longer....a colleague at our club has a selection of these, but as yet we have not had the chance to measure them. Oh well must do next time. Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
Graham, definitely a beauty, and excellent comfort back in the day :) Linkey, the buying too many trains and not much of anything else sounds familiar. I think I don't even have enough track to put all my trains on, even just for display purposes ;) Link to comment

IST
You're a lucky man, you know that? Of course. :-) She has tried to buy me some model train stuff once, but when I saw the model houses and trees in H0 gauge, my happiness was not so real. So she learned that I would like to choose and she gave me the money. Despite of this, now she did not tell me about her shopping, so it was really surprising. And to be honest I think she do not know that this set with my other tracks will occupy a lot space in our living room. :-) Link to comment

Dani
I ordered enough track and switches to mount 50 or 60% of my track plan. I placed the order last Friday, and today it's travelling from Hattons (from 3 to 5 days to deliver in Spain): 30 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-300F 1 yard (91.5cm) length of Finescale Nickle Silver flexible track 2 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-302F 1 Yard of Nickle Silver Flexible Track with Concrete Sleepers 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-14 Track Fixing Pins 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-310 Rail Joiners/Fishplates for N & 009 gauge (24 per pack) 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-311 Insulated Rail Joiners/Fishplates for N & 009 gauge (12 per pack) 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-347 Dummy point motor 2 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-E386F Finescale curved double radius right hand point with electrofrog 3 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-E387F Finescale curved double radius left hand point with electrofrog 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-E390F Finescale double slip with electrofrog 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-E391F Finescale right hand small point with electrofrog 2 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-E392F Finescale left hand small point with electrofrog 1 * Peco Model Railway Products SL-E395F Finescale right hand medium point with electrofrog This means work for several months... I placed the order selecting Royal Mail Priority (3-5 days, a bit more expensive than the standard one) but 12 days later I'm still waiting the parcel to arrive. I'm having a terrible conversation with ehattons and I'm very disgusted for the delay and the answers: After 6 days waiting they answered me that it was dispatched via other transportation agency, and they know this transport agency is having delays, sorry for all, we apologize, inform us when you receive it to improve .... but we don't give any money back or compensation. After 10 days waiting I sent another mail and I have a distinct answer: My order includes oversize articles (flex track) and this caused to change the carrier to City Link, and this is 2 pounds more expensive and spends 10-15 days travelling, but they "make me a favour" and don't charge it. LOL!!!!!! But the funniest thing is that they say in their web page when you select flex track articles that due to the size they must be sent via Royal Mail....... Are they kidding me with those answers?? I'm thinking to cancel the payment, refuse the parcel and order it again with the cheaper standard shipping method (5 to 10 days). It's not a matter of money, just of doing things in a fair way and as they promise. I'm just claiming any kind of compensation because they failed to comply with the conditions shown, just one pound discount in the next order would be enough!!!!! :angry4: Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
That sucks.. I don't generally mind delays, but the store should be honest about them. The first time I ordered Peco track in the Netherlands it took about 2 months to arrive, but the guy at the store was honest and even offered a refund. I opted to just let the order go ahead though, and now whenever I order there, he makes sure everything gets sent ASAP ... You may pay a little extra for service, but I find it well worth the additional cost in most cases. Link to comment
David
Just paid for a new order with Plaza. Some Greenmax buildings and Finetrack for my new micro-layout and the Kato 209-500 Musashino Line - and yes that last one is not listed on his store. I was planning on buying the Greenmax items from Plaza Japan already, and when I balked at the new shipping costs at HS ($40 for any train in a case it seems) I sent Plaza an email on the off chance he could get the 209 for me - he did! Of course everyone knows that Plaza Japan is a class act so it shouldn't be a any surprise when he goes the extra mile like that. Link to comment
rankodd
Just got my Canada Post Strike-delayed orders. Forked out for EMS shipping because it was a bunch of orders that had been sitting at HS because of the strike, then it goes and get's delayed because Canada Post has a big surge of incoming parcels :( It included an expansion kit for my Nozomi 500, my 6-car series 100, a Build Series Parking Lot, and my Tomytec Cars v14. Sadly, my cars did NOT inclue a Today in police colours. :( Link to comment
Fenway Park
Hi My Tomix 2734 4 wheel refrigerator cars arrived today from HS. All in white but more detail than the Kato model which is an old moulding. May have to weather them. Micro Ace DD54s have arrived in Germany so should receive them next week. Link to comment
clem24
Just got my Canada Post Strike-delayed orders. I have a whole bunch of stuff (EMS, SAL, some from Costa Rica even) stuck at CP, with the EMS one stuck in YVR due to a "surge". And another one presumably lost. No thank you, Canada Post. Spaceman Spiff
I bought a bunch of stuff from MTS (3 RDC's and layout stuff) in the US. It was shipped out on June 22 and should be on my doorstep tomorrow. The package spent 5 days at customs the rest of the time sitting in Montreal waiting for Canada Post to get their act together :BangHead: I am now waiting for a Tomix 92415 Shinano 115, Tomix 92822 Hikari Rail Star Shinkansen and a Kato 10-485 Limited Express Sonic. Like The_Ghan I need to sneak this stuff in the house, if not my next purchase will be a plot for myself. Spiff Link to comment

Every good Villian eventually has a day where they could use assistance, and there are many excellent Plotting Professionals who can... Oh. Not that kind of Plot. Sorry :) Link to comment
