I'm surprised that you haven't (yet) expanded to all the other companies plying the region. You are still missing some JR West, Hankyu, Kyoto subway, Kintetsu... JRF, JR Tokai and Meitetsu can geographically go together but the rest are spread apart, that said I had been tempted to dabble in Hankyu but have managed to dodge a bullet there, I am also tempted by Seibu and Tokyu stock, the later I would only touch the Ikegami Line given the short length of its trains. disturbman
I was more thinking of bringing your collection closer to the Keihan Keishin line 😉 Hankyu is quite elegant. One of the nicest liveries around. Strangely enough, I didn't like it as much irl but it looks very good on all models I've seen - Kato, MA, Tomytec. Link to comment

Hankyu were the first trains I rode in Japan (not including my one time in Tokyo exhibiting at MacWorld 2000 before I got married and was there alone). My wife is from Amagasaki and Mukonosou Hanky station was the closest station, so the one we used to go to both Kobe and Osaka (Umeda). It wasn't until later when we started buying JR Passes that we started to go to Tachibana instead and riding mostly JR. We still ride Hankyu occasionally though our Mukonosou connection is no longer there. 1 Link to comment

Martijn Meerts
I still think they designed it with the digital only version in mind, figured out rather late that people wanted a drive, and then just slapped it on ... Link to comment

MeTheSwede
My first locomotive, a Kato 7011-4 arrived today! I planted some trees for the inaugural photo. A little video shot on my phone: https://streamable.com/e/v9rqqb Putting on number plates and other suff will have to wait for another day. Those things look a bit scary to a newbie like me. 🙂 This all feels very good, although I'm a bit dissappointed with how easy the engine stalls on points during slow running. 12 Link to comment
roadstar_na6
Just take a sharp hobby knife for cutting out the number boards and then either use tweezers to align them and push them in with a finger or wrap a big flathead screwdriver with double sided tape and use that to apply the numbers 🙂 EDIT: Oh and btw, usually you won‘t need any glue, they stay in place tightly by themselves. Claude_Dreyfus
Another new arrival, but this time vert much out of region for me. This falls under the category of 'trains I have travelled on'. I used the E227 series a few times when I was staying in Hiroshima, particularly when I travelled along part of the Kure line. The model has a single power bogie, and is a little noisy, but is a smooth runner. Hopefully it'll quieten down with some running. I'll add the distinctive cabside cheeks in due course. And here is the prototype, at Tadanoumi station on the Kure line, September 2019 14 Link to comment

JR 500系
A little something from the recent HS sale: Yap the free DVD is there! Nice! This completes my 323 Osaka Loop line train! Couldnt miss such a Kansai icon! And AFTER much trouble... Ami finally got my pre-order together and correct.... This was the order that got 'cancelled' and 'reinstated'... Well long story but i'm just happy the buses from Kumamoto made it! This Nagasaki Tram is pretty nice indeed! Check out the prints! And 2 of the log trucks... really love that small forklift! 9 Link to comment

railsquid
Something British for a change: Kawai B6 (2157) by Rail Squid, on Flickr Built in 1906 by Dübs and Company in Glasgow. Presumably the model represents the post-1925 state (anyone want to guess why I think that?). Model itself presumably dates from 1997 or earlier (judging by the 3-digit postal code on the packaging). Prototype was in Omiya between 1948 and 1959, when it was withdrawn and scrapped. Edited November 25, 2020 by railsquid 11 Link to comment
200系
Because it's starting to look a bit more civilized with, supposedly, knuckle couplers instead of the original screw-couplers + buffer setup, I would guess? Nice catch, ever since reading Dan Frees excellent "Early Japanese Railways" I've nursed a small interest in early Japanese steam, though I guess I'm slightly more biased towards the American built locomotives as opposed to the British built examples (though I think they are fascinating in their own way). Seems like she'll need some work though, doesn't she? 2 Link to comment
