Das Steinkopf
My first order in nearly 3 months, originally I had placed a preorder for the AEON containers which are a Japan only release. A big thanks to Nariichi for organising these as well as more of the Kato concrete sleepered curves. Due to the fact I had to use DHL or Fedex I decided to up the order with some rerelease buildings as well as a host of other layout materials. I decided to break my normal procurement pattern when it comes to containers and purchased extras of some fairly common types, I will be using them on the pad of the container yard in clusters and renumbering on the sides that are visible. I also purchased some 18D and C20 containers which are out of era for my stock, the reason for this is it is still common to see a few retired containers sitting around yards that are generally used for storage, I will be heavily weathering them so they will look the part in their new role. bill937ca
Four orders shipped EMS, one on June 16, two on June 24 and one on June 26. Two arrived today, making three of four that arrived yesterday and today. Much better than recent months. The first package is small items plus another curved turnout for the main layout. This is just too hot this week for the things I need to do. Edited July 8, 2020 by bill937ca 4 Link to comment
bill937ca
This is the second parcel of the day. A Tomix Sagami Railway (Sotetsu) 12000 series four car set, just right for my layout. 7 Link to comment
Cat
Plaza Japan order sent 1 April finally caught a flight and arrived today! The big green bridge will get cut way down for Shorty use. We'll have a much shorter span, and narrowed to accommodate a single curved track; figured it would be a lot easier to narrow a double-track bridge than to try to widen a single. 6 Link to comment
bill937ca
My fourth parcel of the week just arrived. This is a Kato Pocket Line tram with the new drive, a new Tomix 3265 S35 Trough Girder Bridge along with a Gundam marker set. This concludes my 2020 hobby spring fling! 7 Link to comment
Pauljag900
Hi Bill, I bought that tram a couple of weeks ago and I had the old version, runs a lot better with the new motor mate👍😀 2 Link to comment
Pauljag900
So liking the idea of Jeff and Gavin s idea of Jurassic park I ordered these critters which arrived this morning, i do nt think they re going on this area but the area where the overhead station is,more so to incorporate the steam train as an attraction ride but first I need to turn the board around which means mounting the controllers and switches on the other side, which of course means re wiring it all, that’s toomorrows job. this is how it may look, 3 6 Link to comment
Cat
The spice is flowing! Albeit at a price; this is a pre-order and regular order from 1999 that they combined and changed the shipping from surface to DHL, ouchies. But still a pleasing haul. We've been waiting for a chance to get the two Cosmic acrylic kits for B-Train Shorties: a tiny station and a platform that fits the outside of a Tomix C140 curve. 8 Link to comment

It gets cited often when playing the board game Dune. And it's little more euphonic, than "There's a spice blow!" : 3 Link to comment

Das Steinkopf
More bits and pieces arrived today from Hobby Search via DHL, DHL was a lot quicker this time but still not up to their usual near lightening speed. I had been wanting to get the lighting towers for a while to use in the freight yard I am planning to build, given I have been selling off a lot of the LEGO collection of late I decided to take the plunge, also included is more duplicate containers to renumber for the yard. I also got some Tsugawa Yoko figures to add a bit of variety to my collection. Edited July 13, 2020 by Das Steinkopf 7 Link to comment
JR 500系
2 more parcels dropped in from Ami, and i love DHL ~ Splitting this order up as it was too big and costs too much to send via DHL, and also the risk of getting taxed... We're not going for the Collection, but do need good storage and transport for our sizable Ibaraki bus fleet. When I pre-ordered this one, it was ample to hold the planned fleet at that time. Umm, we're going to need more caskets.... both for buses and trucks. There's an assortment of others preparing to ship now. We're selecting them primarily on what the unpainted toy is that comes in each casket. It's like getting to choose the surprise in your cereal box! The unpainted buses, including the city bus in this case, will make a nice canvas for doing our own wrapping designs. : 3 Edited July 12, 2020 by Cat 1 Link to comment

ED75-775
Still waiting on my parcels to arrive - now three of them with my latest purchases: the Kato and Tomix 2020 catalogs. Would have loved to buy them in person, but with a certain virus cancelling all travel plans, I've had to turn to a contact in Tokyo to obtain them. It's probably cheaper too since he is based over there and doesn't need to pay airfares to get them each time! And Zenmarket claim that by the end of this month all their parcels backlog will be cleared so that means hopefully my DD51 and Oha 31 coach will be on their way soon. That will be nice!
