JR 500系
Ahah! Welcome! You have been bitten! You need an E5 to connect to that E6 ~~ And then an E3 to also connect to that E5, and then an E2 to connect to that E3 etc... :) Link to comment
JR 500系
2 parcels came in recently, one about 1 week ago, and the other just today! A parcel containing my usual tissue source of MA trains... This shipment isn't very appealing to me except for the 485 series Inaho perhaps... The rest are like... Some Tomytec buses to complete my bus collection and a really nice looking cement truck! The other parcel is a nice one! My first order from Ami Ami came in today! Got some items that I couldn't get elsewhere especially the Toei Bus book which I definitely will love to read, and my first Kilo Post. Like how Ami Ami wrapped up my little geomatrix decal sheet! 2 Link to comment
miyakoji
185, 117, 221, refurb'd 485... excellent choices. Link to comment
miyakoji
JR500, I see that the 185 series is MicroAce A4168. We had some discussion on that in this thread http://www.jnsforum.com/community/topic/2585-micro-ace-a4168-what-is-it/ . I really like this prototype and these creative MicroAce liveries. How do you like the detail on this model? How does it run? Link to comment
JR 500系
185, 117, 221, refurb'd 485... excellent choices. Thank you. I like the 485 the best, these 485 series really gets to me, especially the Hakucho "yellow-faced' which I already pre-ordered. The 221 is nice in a way I can now connect to the 223 to run ~ The 117 is fine and looks quite nice as a older model, and it's still running now: I'll talk about the 185 in the next post... toc36
I received the Microace A2076 DEKI 500 and the Tomix 92198 Hakone Tozan Type 3000. 1 Link to comment
katoftw
The postman delivered a Koki 107 and Koki 200 this afternoon. Link to comment
katoftw
Ordered some Tomix 5.6mm dia black wheels to fit my incoming efWing Kumamon 6200 train. The trailer sets for Tomytec only come with silver wheels. Also ordered Casco urethane 12 car insert for a empty tomix 6216 case I have been storing. Will puts some Tomytec trains in this case that have painful storage cases themselves. Link to comment
railsquid
I chanced on a rather scruffy pair of wagons last night in Akihabara: They will go nicely with the "James the Red Engine" I rescued from a junk bin (as an apparent non-runner) as a future birthday/Christmas present for BabySquid :) 2 Link to comment

Just need a big enough hammer, as Jeremy Clarkson would say. ;) 1 Link to comment

Here he is pursuing you around my proto-layout: 2 Link to comment

kvp
This is why everybody who makes train cam videos and doesn't want to be visible on them should wear a backdrop patterned shirt or hold a skyboard in front of them. :) 1 Link to comment
railsquid
Or edit the video better ;). There's a bit "missing" where I was even more visible... Anyway I've more-or-less worked out where the on the layout the camera points towards the 1:1 scale human. Which reminds me, now the baby is sleeping nights I have a fighting chance of finally getting some work done on the layout :) Link to comment
Martijn Meerts
It almost looks like one of those old duck & cover commercials.. You know, where they say you should hide under the table in case a nuke goes off nearby :) Link to comment
cteno4
Ha! Those were not good times in school when we had to do them. But at least in California they translated well into earthquake drills... We have the most digital accidents (ie phalanges in front of trains) when we run the train cam, everyone (adults included) want to put their mug in front of it or at least wave into the camera. Martijn Meerts
Nothing ordered (yet), but I finally managed to get some time to continue working on the helix. About ready to start cutting some more wood and building the internal structure of the thing, so I figured I'd check how much track I'll need to buy.. Turns out I need close to 500 euro worth of track and turnouts for the helix alone. Going to be some 80 meters of track on the thing ;) Link to comment
Densha
You could run real trains on a 80 meter stretch of track! (Okay, the gauge isn't correct, but you get my point.) Link to comment
cteno4
Yikes that like 7.5 scale miles! That's going to take some time to get thru! At 1m radius that's like 25 loops?! Nobody has ever accused martjin of being timid about his trains! Jeff Link to comment
mrp
Whenever anyone says helix, it reminds me of the video the N-Scale Tehachapi Pass guy posted of his first helix test run. Link to comment
