Densha
Please do all discussion about the Keihan Ōtsu Lines model trains here.Keihan Ōtsu Lines refers to the Keihan Keishin Line and Keishin Ishiyama-Sakamoto Line that are famous for their street-running sections with high-floor commuter trains. So, Tomytec has released new information and updates on new Collection trains. This time some very exciting news once again! For July:- Keihan 700 type 2nd release (Keion! Wrapping);- Keihan 600 type 1st release (flat front window); The Keihan 700 type reveals a new series of Ōtsu line trains, I'm predicting. There are only five consists in operation, so seeing the massive popularity of the 600 type (10 consists in operation), Tomytec will probably release most -if not all- variants as well. All fans are now rubbing their hands and cursing their bank account. I only just realized now, but the 700 series K-ON wrapping is actually a completely different one from the 600 series K-ON wrapping. Here are some pictures: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/kodamahage/32163601.htmlThe 1st 'release' 600 series in indeed different from the other 600's because the front windows don't go around the corner, while the later 600's front windows do. And I have not even received my package with the other Otsu line trains yet... So far I have all Tomytec releases except the limited edition releases. Tomytec Keihan Otsu Line trains so far released/announced:80 type (limited edition only available locally in Japan)350 type (Railway Collection Vol.17)600 type: 2nd subseries, standard livery with old logo (Railway Collection Vol.17)600 type: 1st subseries, Keihan Limited Express livery (limited edition only available locally in Japan)600 type: 4th subseries,Tetsudou Musume wrapping600 type: 3rd subseries, K-ON wrapping600 type: 4th subseries, standard livery with new logo600 type: 1st subseries, standard livery with new logo700 type: 2nd subseries, K-ON wrapping(Note: 600 type 1st subseries has flat front windows, other 600 type subseries do not.)Keihan Otsu Line trains by other manufacturers:60 type: early livery (Modemo: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10189229)60 type: later livery (Modemo: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10229035)800 series: old logo (MicroAce: http://www.microace-arii.co.jp/release/pdf/A8360f.pdf)800 series: new logo (MicroAce: http://www.microace-arii.co.jp/release/pdf/A8360f.pdf) Unpowered and unassembled Platz models: 600 type: K-ON wrapping (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10183970) 600 type: Chihayafuru wrapping (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10208225) 600 type: 'Patoden' AKB48 Miku Tanabe wrapping (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10224245) Edited March 15, 2015 by Densha 2 Link to comment
katoftw
I'll have to look into the Vol.17 collection ones. Do you get 2 or 1 cars from this collection? ie:- Is the 350 car 351 and 352? And the older 600, 609 and 610? I have or will have the bottom five on your list. Edited March 15, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
Densha
Vol.17 indeed includes the 351, 609 and 610. I guess it's difficult to find them now. Link to comment

There is always yahoo haha http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g143290620 And something more interesting but costly http://page13.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/r125207640 And I haven't seen these box sets before http://page4.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/d163106465 Edited March 15, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
Densha
Isn't that last one just the 600 type in Tetsudou Musume livery? Link to comment
katoftw
Yes, but the box is fancier than the regular box normally I have seen. Link to comment
katoftw
I wouldn't mind a 600 1st ed in the orange and red, 603-604 and the Police car wrapped version. Edited March 15, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment

Densha
Yep I also really like the orange/red express livery! I hope to get my hands on it one day. You reminded me of the existence of the Platz models. I added them to the list in the first post. But you have to assemble, put on the decals, find a suitable motor unit and fiddle to install it yourself. That may not be everyone's thing. Link to comment

I didn't know they existed when I said it. Unless it is the Japan only express colours? Edited March 15, 2015 by katoftw Link to comment
katoftw
Platz's versions must be dead in the water considering Tomytec's is half the price. Link to comment
Densha
Your last link is the 351. Maybe I'll update my list with car numbers tomorrow or so. Well, there can always be people who may want the Chihayafuru or police wrapping so I thought I'd just add them for the sake of completion. Link to comment
JR 500系
Is it me or does the Keihan Otsu Lines have so many different beautiful liveries for a street-running train? Link to comment
ToniBabelony
You're really pushing my buttons here Densha... My only excuse for not buying any Keihan trains is because I'm a dirty hipster in that sense and think they've become too 'mainstream'. Link to comment
Densha
I know that feelin' bro. I also thought I was being hipster with my Keihan trains but now suddenly everyone is getting them. :P Maybe we gotta find a more hipster railway out there. I didn't know they existed when I said it. Unless it is the Japan only express colours? After more digging around, yes this is the express colours version. They are plentiful on yahoo and range from 2200 to 4000 yen. 2200 has time for more bis though. Although looking are medium pricing, around 3000 +/- 300 seems the going price. Densha
That's indeed the Keihan limited express livery. On another note, the yahoo auctions link you posted is clearly by one of those guys that buy a whole bunch to sell them at higher prices at a later point of time. Just look at the second picture... katoftw
Yes I noticed There is 2 auctions I found like that. Their pricing is kinda steep compared to what it cost when it was first released. But if you look at what 2 car limited release sets are costing in todays terms, their pricing isn't too bad. Early 2013 you'd pay 2000-2500 for a 2 car set. Look at the release prices for todays 2 car sets, 2500-3000. But if you don't like those prices, there are cheaper ones out there, but you'll be buying a opened packet, not a unopened packet. Last night on yahoo, sets finished at 2400 and 2700 in the express colours, well under 3600. And the 609-610 2 car combined auction went for 2600. I've got a few others I'm watching also. Well I probably was the one who got the 2700 yen one you mentioned... after you reminded me of the existence of yahoo auctions and seeing that price I couldn't resist. I may have been infected by a virus inducting a Keihan collectors syndrome along the line. How about anything that wasn't cool enough to make it to today? Towada Kankō Tetsudō? Kashima Tetsudō? Hitachi Dentetsu? etc. xD That first one actually had quite an interesting diversity of rolling stock and both passenger and freight traffic... oh no please don't dare to research it any further! katoftw
Almost brought a Keihan 800 series new set for 86XX on yahoo last night. Kinda miffed I didn't have the guts to hit the bid button. Way cheaper than normal new price. Hopefully tonight I'll have got the Ltd Ed Keihan colours and Volume 17 normal colours 2 car sets off yahoo. Then I'll have only the 350, 800 and the 2 jun/jul release versions to get. Link to comment
